  1. sweet. replacing the pioneer?
  2. the current radio is a cassette deck, and the cassette deck doesnt even work. im stuck with listening to the same crap over and over and over again. the reception also sucks balls, and i think that's why my right speakers sound like they are distorting. I heard the exact same stock system speakers i have in a buddies car and it sounded GOOD. im gonna try to reproduce what i heard if i can't ill go all out active aftermarket. these stock speakers have mucho potential. you might ask why i got the 9887 if i aint going active. I dont like the look of the 9886 and i like to keep my options open. once my crutchfield order comes in on the 5th with the ipod cable and din removal tools i can install it on the 8th next steps: replace right speakers if blown, run aftermarket amp, deaden, and try out the Imprint thingamajig. maaan i cant wait. p.s. anyone in socal with an imprint module i can use?

  6. A 3000D would be a bit much for those little woofers. unless you enjoy tons of overhead
  7. funny you should say that, at first i thought it was eclipse. anyways you know what would really make that car pop? cleaner headlights. IMO it seems like its the only thing holding it back from PURE hotness. dont get me wrong, i love it

  13. gotcha thats exactly what i was looking for. i guess i needed it spelled out a little lol thanks man
  14. thats exactly what it is... im just confused on how it integrates with the speaker lines of the hu. heres more info if that helps: The signal level can be adjusted from a maximum of 9.5 Volts rms down to zero volts. This feature was included for optimizing the S/N of system and is a must for competition or demo systems. The NE-684V is fully transformer isolated with phase and frequency compensation to prevent noise and damage to aftermarket or OEM components. The NE-684V is safe and easy to install. The NE-684V features four floating speaker level inputs and four floating speaker level outputs. To alter the signal level of the NE-684V, simply squeeze the plastic lid on the long sides and lift up on the top. There are four small trim pots inside that are factory pre-set to the maximum signal level. We recommend leaving the level as high as possible for maximum signal and minimal noise.
  15. haha werd. its not me, its my cousin. "PDX-Yi qian, CDA-Jiu ba ba qi" that just sounded funky in chinese lol
  16. http://www.davidnavone.com/cart.asp?14&pid=149 i wanted to experiment with my stock system and this sounded like a cool adapter to use with an aftermarket HU. How does it work? does it somehow bypass the HU's internal amp?
  17. i loled watch it all. the finale is awesome

hit up almond on CA.com he needs one
  19. did you properly seal your box? an air leak sometimes sounds liek mechanical noise. and the things i highlighted could also be your problem in terms of sounding crappy. not sure about the alpine decks, but isnt +15 like all the way up? set your gains with a dmm. also check your sub wiring. you might have accidentally inverted the polarity.

2.5k no ihop edit: i dont think
  21. well just from the reviews alone, it looks like a pair of Icon's will sound a whole lot better than the BL. seeing neil compared the Icon to the IDQ in terms of sound quality. thats saying a lot. I mean A LOT. I guess the ICON is more of an "all around" sub, and the BL is geared more towards the heavy bass rap music kinda thing (like an RE SX) if the decision were mine, id pick the icons. but thats just me
