Here's a couple pics 2 15" Fi Q's 2 Infinity Kappa 6x9's 2 Infinity Reference 5x7 Componets 1 JBL GTO 14001 1 Cheap arse sony 4 chan soon to be switched with Soundstream TRX 4.420 (already have just haven't put it in yet) Clarion Head Unit About 30 cubes of Dynamat Extreme 1 Run of 0 Gauge into a distrubution block with 8ga to the 4 chan and 4 ga to the Bass amp 1 Optima Yellowtop Here Shortly will be putting my Soundstream 7 Band Parametric EQ in and Soundstream 4 channel and some more sound deading stuff in the trunk- How to blow up factory speakers
Thermite- DP or xcon?
- 15" bl box size??
I'm no expert but maybe you have you're gains set to high or your bass boost set to high- Optima Batteries
Flowmasters? You should get some SLP Loudmouth 1's, now thats a nasty sounding exhaust. Or you could just do it just to be different then the 90 percent of people that have exhaust runs flowmasters. I think there kinda overrated myself. On my car I got a 2 1/2 inch SLP X pipe w/hi flow cats running into a 3 inch Mac Catback (stock exhaust manifolds) and everyone always compliments me on my exhaust and I ALWAYS here the comment "Man I like the way that sounds alot better than my flowmasters" I must have heard that like 30 times. (I have a mustang, so theres lots of mustangs running around with the same engines and I've heard alot of different exhausts on the same engine for comparison. List of brands I've heard, Mac, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, SLP loudmouth 1s, SLP powerflows,Borla's,Bassani, the list goes on and on. In my opinion the 3 best sounding exhausts. Magnaflow,SLP's, and Mac- Enclosure Question (yea seems like theres alot of these)
Alright Finally got the setup up and running Box is Gross 9.5 cubic feet with 1.5 cubes of port .38 cubes of displacement 7.62 cubes @ 33 hz off 1200 watts wired in a 4 ohm load I noticed they have some polyfill in this box for whatever reason. (i didnt build it) This would be a nightmare to calculate I would think, because the box is like a Trapezoid with another slanted chamber going into the trunk. Box replaces where the backseat used to be subs firing towards seats port firing towards seats. Subs are probally aoubt 2 feet away from you're head. (sorry probally not all that impressive to alot of people on this forum but, I'm really impressed, and it definately destorys anything I have ever had by far) Off 1200 watts this thing shakes the steering wheel even when I got my hand on it. 2 infinity kappa 6x9s and 2 infinity 6x8 reference componets off about 60 watts rms each deck is a clarion Sounds pretty sick, woofers probally have maybe 45min to an 1 hour of play time same with speakers. Sounds so clean compared to the Kicker CVX 12s I had before definately way louder in the low's. Compared to when my kickers were in a prefab 3 cube box, I would say they were louder in the high notes in that box, but I'm sure it was probally tuned really high. The real big difference I would say is that these Infinty's sound way better than my old polks in my opinion they just sound way louder overall I'm really interested to see what I would hit on the termlab. I have a Soundstream 7 band Parametric EQ I havent hooked up yet. and I have a Soundstream 4 channel coming soon. Soundsteram TRX 4.420 rated at 105 watts rms @ 2 ohms (which is what the infinitys run at) Can't wait cause its got, a bunch of filters this cheap sony dont 24 db cutoffs. Here is one question though 4 channel cutsoff at loud volume, turn the car off then back on again and it is instantly back on. Any Idea's? Im thinking it probally isnt very stable at 2 ohms instead of 4 like I used to run- Scion tC 150db box design
You should make it a Sixth Order bandpass- need a clarification on "nice box"
so if it is recommended for 2.8-4.0 and you go say 6.0 cubes won't that make you're sub have to much excursion and sound sloppy?- video of my truck running at a usaci show
what do you got for electrical?- Anyone know where to get metered in the Manhattan KS area?
I just want to see what I meter at 2 15" Fi Q's at 34hz off 600 rms each what do you think 138-143 somewhere in there? in a Mustang- Anyone know where to get metered in the Manhattan KS area?
anyone know where to get metered in the Manhattan, KS area? and where any nearby upcoming comps are?- First Impressions. Whoah.
If you've got that much weight why don't you get some stiffer springs in the back- (1) 15" vs (2) 12" Nightshades
I say go the cheap rout and wire it in 4 ohms- SAZ-1500D ELECTRICAL
Don't mean to jack this thread or anything but what if you put a smaller pulley on you're alt will that do anything or no? I got a 04 Stang I think it has a 105 amp alt i'm not sure, I just swapped my battery for a Optima Yellowtop My lights were dimming like crazy before off my JBL 14001 and Wal Mark Sony 4 Ch, But I haven't had my system hooked up since putting in the yellowtop. I haven't done the big 3 yet, got 0 gauge going to the back off the battery. Does anyone know where the chassis ground is in a mustang, or can you just run it anywhere on the chassis?- Orion HCCA vs DD 3500 or 9500
More than digital designs? i seen 15s for 400 12s for 375 and 10s for 200 on a certain website- DR 21 - Coming March 15th.
Does anyone got the TL Parameters for the DR 21 and DP 21 and Warden 21?- CES Fi Style
how will the btl compare to the Incrimnator audio warden 21?- just ordered 2 15" Q's dual 1 ohm
To the guy that said something about passive radiators where do I find some online the only ones i've seen is those Audiopulse ones and it sure as hell seems not cheap to me according to Winisd i would need like 3 or 4 of them thats what 300-400 dollars not to mention all of them gotta fit inside of my car Anyway I talked to a guy about building a custom box He said he could make the box big like 7 cubic feet but it will go into my trunk partially (this is gonna be a non walled box that replace's back seat going partially into the trunk my question is anyone with box's replacing backseat should I go subs firing towards the seats port towards roof or the other way around also If I got into a wreck do you think the subs would still stay in the box if it was towards the seat cause thats the last thing I would need in that situation would be gettin hit in the head with a 35 pound woofer lol so im looking at somewher around 6.5-7 cubes @ 33 hz after displacement Sorry for bringing this topic up but I want it done right when I'm shelling out like $500 plus for a box- just ordered 2 15" Q's dual 1 ohm
According to WinISD I figured i could get 5.4 cubes after the port and it is at least 4 dbs from 23hz on all the way up to to the cutoff than a sealed so ive decided im going ported- Infinity Speakers
Next week I'm getting install, Infinity 6x8's in the front (componets with external tweeters)Infinity 6x9s in the back, 2 Fi Q 15's, in a sealed box @ 5.2 Cubes The roof will be dynamated the Doors are gonna be dynamated and a 7 band Eq somewhere either in the glove box or console, Anyway Anyone have these Infinitys? I have 7 infinitys in my barracks My question is They will be powered off a cheap sony amp tell my Soundstream TRX 4.420 gets in. If I have the Soundstream's gain turned down will I have any clipping, the componets are references rated at 90 watts rms @ 2 ohms the amp puts out supposedly 105 watts rms the 6x9s are rated at 110 watts rms I just dont want any distortion also with a 7 band what will I set my head unit eq to -6 bass and treble or 0?7 Band is a Soundstream parametric, deck is a Clarion w/2 volt preouts- Enclosure Question (yea seems like theres alot of these)
I have a Q it dont have an option for universal and i have the JBL which is rated at 1500 at 2 ohms im thinking of gettin a second one and running one each sub at 2 ohms - 2004 Mustang Install
