Not sure on the re cone question, never done one myself.
  2. Never looked at it that way. Very good point! If they REALLY knew there vehicle they would know the weak spots.
  3. Dang Toyota's From the pics it looks as though you may be flirting with disaster. Although it's really hard to tell from just pictures. Like I said early on the phone, getting close to or over the recommended weight would be a concern. It'd be almost impossible to predict what would fail first, the frame work of the car or the suspension mounts. I know this isn't anymore help than I gave ya over the phone but, you could try and see what happens, hoping it's not a serious failure that would cause a wreck while driving. If it were me, and I know ya don't want to hear this but, I would try to downsize the build lessening the chance of a total failure.

Alright, looking for some help here. I've been researching battery chargers on the net and I've been looking for so long (a few months) my head is spinning! Here's what I'm in the market for, AGM charging of course, at least 15 amp, enough voltage to charge 12v batteries properly, price around 100 bucks. There are a ton of options out there but I'm having trouble picking one. My main issue is not wanting to "pull the trigger" on something, then months down the road wishing I'd bought something else. Anyone out there have any advice on one they've picked up and loved? (kinda looking for customer feedback)

I could fab and weld one up. Maybe sometime in the future if things don't pan out. Thank ya much! I debated with myself over several months building and rebuilding the enclosure. This particular design is one I may stay with for a little while, adding c.f. and changing the tuning. The "hood" on top makes a world of difference in sound deflected into the cab. Without it, the cap flexes and the overall output seems to drop off big time.

Just got off the phone with Mathew from Mechman. My alt. seems to be running within range of 14.3 @ 2k rpm on their dyno. He made a suggestion that if I need better voltage for competing I may want to try one of these: http://www.mechmanhighoutputalternators.com/shop/products/Ford-Adjustable-Voltage-Boost-Module.html So, for chits and giggles, I'll test it out. It's due to ship back to me tomorrow which should get to me in a couple days. I hope everything plays out and I can get back on track with this rebuild in time for Slamology. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!
  7. OK Focker! I haven't logged onto that site in years, but I did it for you and voted for ya. You owe me one bro!

O.k. So the Mechman alt is now on it's way to Knoxville to get put on their dyno. It should be there by wed. sometime. I hope they don't leave it sitting around the shop for too long without taking a look at it. IMO something has to be going wrong with it. I've never had voltage issues with it since I put it in until about 3 months or so ago. I had to put my stock alt in just to be able to drive to and from work. Sad thing is that my stock alt reads 14.3v at idle and 14.4-14.5 at 2000rpm..... After chatting with Shizzzon for a little while I wondered if I should've just made a bracket for another alt and ran dual stock?!?!?! Or, possibly adding a VCM????? We'll see what Mechman comes up with as far as their findings on my alt. Only cranking 14.0 on a H/O alt is bunk IMO. Keep y'all posted as to what they say and my options might be.
  16. More vids!!!! I'll get my popcorn ready!!
  17. I know what ya mean. They haven't for a while. I honestly like the sound of the Icon over the Xcon. I don't have a reason why, I guess since I own 2 Icon's it's a kinda bias opinion. I've heard both in person. Actually wouldn't be surprised to see Mark or Aaron say that they are going to discontinue them...LOL (Please don't!!!) I just felt lonely not having an Icon banner!
  18. Ok captain douche bag, like you can't comprehend what he's trying to say?Not that its well put or anything. wow PHI didnt know you were a captain! and you are now officially a female cleaning product! CAPTAIN FEMALE CLEANING PRODUCT = PHI I'm actualy tired of reading the "this sub ~vs~ that sub" threads that are posted on this site. People listen and listen good, it depends a lot on the installation!!!!!!!! Stick any sub in a cardboard box and it'll sound like shit. Put any sub with an inferior power application, it'll sound like shit....... For the love of God! Do some research or testing before you post up a question or opinion! A little work goes a long way when making a statement regarding any equipment. Such things need to be included such as, what type of ride, what type of enclosure, power supply, ect....... Square ~vs~ round......? Here's a good question, which would fly farther if thrown with two hands? (I don't care if this cost me a few rep points, just had to get this out there!!! sorry)
  19. When there's more feet of wire in you ride than in the walls to your house! When you keep delivery boxes in your crib from every single piece of equipment, and it's starting to get impossible to see the carpet in your room. When you just get done with your install and 20 minutes later you find yourself already planning your next install!
  20. Where's the dang ICON!!!!
  21. Happy Birthday!!!

Yeah but I can't put it in with this lame voltage. My T1500-1bd already drops the voltage to 13.2 while driving.
