  1. it doesnt matter what BL you get just make sure if you get a dual 1 ohm sub then you can wire it to 0.5 ohms or 2 ohms ; if you get a dual 2 ohm sub then you can wire it 1 ohm or 4 ohms. Once you figure out what sub your gonna get then you figure out how you want to wire it and what amp you need. For example if you get a dual 2 ohm subwoofer, you should wire it down to 1 ohm and then find you a 1 ohm stable amp that does rated rms as your subwoofer or a little more.
  2. hopefully in 15 days (give or take a little) i will be recieving my tracking number, june is almost ove with and i cant wait because lately i have noy been able to sleep with all this anticipation building up.
  3. well i will have to wait till tomorrow once u test everything out to see if its the beast that the ceo or xstatic told me it was also
  4. Yep, I was gunna go with a powermaster d3100 but i went and talked to mike jones at my local shop and he swayed me towards the batcap 2000 and said it should handle 3000 rms. I thought it was fishy but who knows, He is a SPL world record holder lol. (edit - or maybe he used to be, idk but he was one a lot of awards.) what all was he saying bout the batcap 2000 and what it could be capable of
  5. i appreciate you to the fullest because i been looking for alternators for a long time, if i were to get a 200 amp alernator will i also have to get a secondary battery or will i be fine with the h/o alternator and a good starting battery(xs power d5100, odyssey or deka battery)
  6. my question for you is when u finally get it wired and going i wanna know how that batcap 2000 will fare on that 3000w rms amp. i was considering a batcap 2000 for my system since i had the 800 series in my old system and it faired quite well. is the battery underhood stock?
  7. well i definantly appreciate the info and you help me saved some money since the redtop is chepaer, but thats also what i heard but everyone has the preferences i guess. but i will just go with the red top for starting battery.
  8. no problem, i think the price difference is 50 dollars. its not about the price with my batteries as of now its the space. both of my batteries will be in the trunk since thats where saturn puts their primary batteries. the primary battery's compartment is between 11-12" and there is a spot next to it under 10". So i was gonna put the xs power d2400 in the primary location for the system and the optima as a starting battery next to it. Or get the xspower d2400 in the primary location for the system and the xspower d5100 as the starting battery next to it but i didnt really see the sense of paying that much for a starting battery thats why i start asking about optima since it will fit also.
  9. nobody said i was getting two yellowtops for my 3000w system
  10. i plan on getting an optima for under the hood and a xspower d2400 for the trunk but i was just asking holley how those two yellowtops were doing on his system thats all. i just wanted to know which would be better for a starting battery the yellow or red (i barely play music with my car off).
  11. appreciate the feedback, do u have the yellowtops as one underhood and one in the rear by amps or a stock battery with both yellow tops; just kinda curious how two yellowtops are doing with close to 3000rms which will be my setups rms. thanks
  12. i dealt with optima before and their not a problem, i know they been going downhill but im not about to pay over $200 for a starting battery im sorry just not my cup of tea. its either a optima 75/25 or the odyssey thats compatible but thats over $200, maybe later but not know. these are the only two that fit where i would like them to go without doing any modifications, so right now im either looking at a yellowtop or a redtop 75/25 as of now and i might just settle for the red since it will just be for starting the vehicle.
  13. no upgrded alternator yet but im in the process of looking for one for a 2003 saturn ion, the stock alternator is 105 amps. the starting battery is stock and i will be getting a xs power d2400 for my secondary battery for the 3000 watt rms system first and then change my starting battery. i wanted to know which one would be better just for starting purposes even though i know red tops are designed just for starting a vehicle best. i have researched and heard pros for a yellow and pros for a red, why would i want a yellowtop as a starting battery if i have a xs power battery in the back?
  14. nevermind i already made up my mind, gonna run with a deka deep cycle battery for starting battery and xs power d2400 for my car audio
  15. how big is his box, port and what frequency is it ported at. wheres the port at it didnt see it and they didnt sound ported, whats the specs of the amp he is using.
  16. amp and bass stoppers wont help at all, if he gets some more speakers 6.5" or bigger and and amp then he should be ok.
  17. in my opinion, 2-4" speakers and 4 tweeters running stock on an amp or no amp will keep up with 3-12" kicker cvx's even with 700 watts rms coming from an amp and this is speaking from experience
  18. keep me posted on any updates jacob, appreciate ya. working on system till i get this powerful beast.
  19. appreciate the info and clarity guys, thats why i love this forum
  20. Appreaciate ya, So basically there is no ratio for power to ground wires. An example to make sure were both clear and on the same page; once i get my big three done i will have three power wires leaving my main battery( 4gauge to alternator, 2gauge to alternator and 2gauge to secondary battery) and having one-1/0 gauge ground wire leaving battery to frame of car. Correct????? Thanks KU40 Yeah that sounds good. Was the 4 gauge from the alternator to battery the stock wire and then you just added the 2 gauge wire alongside it? your correct, would it hurt to toss a 2 gauge ground alongside the 1/0 gauge or will the 1/0 gauge be sufficient.

  22. is there a ratio for power to ground wires or once you go 0 gauge ground, you can have as many power wires going off the postive terminal of a battery
  23. thats exactly what im saying in less words, better than how i said it. could someone explain the facts or rule of thumb for how many positive wires equal a ground wire. for instance if i were to have three 2/0 gauge power wires leaving the positive terminals how many ground wires and what size, is it still one 1/0 gauge ground wire.
  24. Im guessing i was looking at batteries like an amp, for every power wire their should be a ground wire. So in my case, my main battery as of now has two 2/0 gauge power wires coming from the positive terminals(one going to alternator and the other going to the distribution block to amps), and for the ground i have two 2/0 gauge ground wires coming from the negative terminal to the frame of the car. I was asking if you should have those 2 ground wires coming from the negative terminals or is one 1/0 or 2/0 gauge wire good enough for a ground? Does it matter how many power wires u have on a positive battery terminal to determine how many ground wires u should have coming off the negative battery terminals. appreciate it
