I listened to a system with 4000 watts just for the bass(on 2 15" subs), and all I can say is that it's way too much for daily !!! Unless you have a big car and enough mids & highs to keep up. Listen to Denim, get a Fi BTL and a better amp, like a Stetsom 2ksomething or a Sundown saz 2000-2500. This will be expensive and loud as f%&! !! On the cheap there is the Audiopipe 3000 amp. Get a real custom box, and upgrade your electrical system (big3, 0 ga wire, add batts,...). If you don't compete, you should not need more. A BTL is enough to destroy your car.

Low Pass Filter : let the lower notes pass ! So if it says 50 to 200, it's a sub amp : it will allow notes from the lowest to 50 until 200 hz to pass. You adjust where you want to cut it , usually around 80-100 Hz. The SSF (SubSonic Filter) is set from factory on the Kicker amps at 25 Hz if I remember correctly. It's not the best choice. These 2 amps, and many more, will "give you plenty lows", .......but only if you have the right box for the subs. 2 Kicker 750.1 will cost you more than 1 AQ. I don't think you will notice a difference in output from you subs. Be careful with the VC config. There are dozens of 1500 watts amps on the market, I would not buy the 2 Kickers. 2 amps for just 1500 watts : no way ! Take a look at the store here. Good luck

Well if it were me I would go with the new SAZ-2500D on the pair of XCONS! Go with the amp(s) that fit within your budget. You should be ok with stock alt, big 3 and extra battery. 1 run of positive and negative 1/0 to the back for the extra battery. Back battery to the amps. Go bigger, try to find a 3000 watts amp !!! Joking ! the 2500 on 2 Xcons 12" : that would be a wonderful setup. With 2 ed amps, it's easier if you want to sell something later. Can they be strapped ? So you have only one amp to set.

The advantage of strapping 2 amps is that you have only one amp (the master) to control, the 2nd(the slave) don't need no settings, it just gives power. It may not be easy to adjust the settings the exact same way on 2 different amps. But the 2500 is a better choice IMO. Make sure to have a final load of 1 ohm for the 2500 or 2 ohms if you strapped 2 sax 1200D. Good luck.

Welcome ! Alpine type R and SSA Icon are very different subs. What are you looking for ? There are so much subs in the market ! Take a look at the store, go to the Sundown forum or site... Do you already have th AQ amp ? You can find great combos on the ssa shop

Turn the rear speakers off, you will have more bass ! You just want the music to come in front of you. Are you sure about the box design? A ported box will give you nore output (usually)

You'd better post your budget and box specs. Tell us what kind of bass you like. Do you have special deals on those subs ?

Thanks for the compliment ! It was really a hard work : quite a week long too. We had to take the white ssa stickers off, on my sub too ! It was too bright for our cars : even with the 5 or 10 % tint, the white was too visible, it allowed people to see the subs and box through the back windshield. When we took them off, we couldn't see NOTHING in the car. That is why we need some of the new stickers : blue ones for the Renault( with 2 xcons) and black or grey for my Toyota! Until that, people may think we run Sundown subs !!! Noooooooo !!! We tell them what they are !!!

Stock alt ? You can't play for long, can you ? On my poor pc speakers I can hear the mids VERY well !

nice ride, nice install !!! You need some new and bigger rims for a demo vehicle. Maybe I missed it, but what do you have for front speakers and mids amp ? Do you already have a HO alternator ?

I got the design for a friend of mine, and bought everything I could on the internet : 6 amps (2 jbl for mids and highs, and 4 Sundown saz1000) , and the 2 Xcons. I post the pics because he is not good at computer and internet, and he doesn't speak english at all ! But he knows what he's doing, and he asks the good questions ! I find all the answers here on this forum. Thanks to SSA, the members, and the mods.

Haha, yes bmw had 110kw this one has 55kw but its so light, and it's quite ok to drive, btw, no power steering much fun on dirty roads a little hint: will be 2x15", 4kw rms ^^ Thats 147hp and 73hp for us Americans. Thanks for the Frenchmen too !!! 4000 watts will hurt this poor little civic !

Little advice : make sure you turn off your Pioneer HU before moving any rca's or playing with wires.

I forgot to say that with the poor electrical system, we can only play for a FEW minutes, watching the voltmeter!!! With engine on! With the upcoming upgrades we hope for only a few minutes more.

The install of the amps and subbox is quite finished. There is only the 2nd jbl amp left to install. We found a bigger alternator for the car : a 120 amp one to replace the 80 a he has ! Next week is for battery shopping. The alt will be easy to put in place. It sounds so good for now ! The mids and highs are still soooo clear and accurate. The bass is insane. If you turn up the volume, you'd'better stay out of the car!! I took some nice pics of it. I'll post them when I reach a pc (difficult to post pics with my phone )
