The 2 wires I already have are one 1/0 and one 2/0( the bigger one). Which one to use for what grounds ? "the next plosest point" : so, I should not use any point from the engine block ? You think I need to go close to the alternator. MR Sagat : you think the alt(+) to batt (+) is the most important part to do ? I'm surprised. I thought this stock wire should be at the good size for the stock alternator. I don't have no high output aftermarket alt.

Hi everyone, I'm looking to finish the big 3 in my car. I already have a 0 ga wire from battery - to chassis. My alternator is difficult to reach. I must "lift" the car to reach it under the motor. My question is : can I take a point anywhere on the engine block and ground it to the chassis of the car (with a 0 ga wire) ? (I know !). That would be the third part of the big 3. I have a stock alternator, maybe the (+) alt to (+) battery part is not a "must do" part for me. Another question : I have one 0 ga wire with ring connectors, and one 2/0 marine grade wire with ring connectors too. Which one would you choose for the battery to ground, and for the engine block to ground ? Thanks

no need to worry! You're on the right way ! I have 0 ga from my battery to the dist block in the trunk. I have 2 2 ga wires fused with a 80 amp fuse going o my saz 1500 because I did not have the right distribution block and the right fuse (150-160 amp). Your system should be better.

Sealed boxes are easier to build, but they will not give you max output. I'm sure an Xcon can get really loud in sealed boxes too ! But, loud for somebody is not always loud for others.

Before I saw this box, I was proud of mine !!! But now,...!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

x 2 Your friends will hate you when they listen to the xcon, unless they have several Kicker subs in their trunk !!! Find some music with really low bass notes, and your xcon will make you LOVE it !!!

Welcome ! Take a look at the ssa shop to see what they got. Here are some brands to look at : SSA, Fi, Sundown audio, DC,...and many more. I would love to try a single 18" in my car, but I don't have room for that!!

A 12" in the optimum enclosure must be loud as f... It can leave you some room in your cargo area to give the amps some fresh air ! I run a 15" xcon in a 3.5 cu ft net ported box. I love it, but I bought the 15" only because I already had the box for the 15". I would have bought the 12" instead!!!

I am always afraid when I order something online. When I use UPS, my items goes to France, and then cross the ocean a second time to arrive in Martinique, in the Carribeans : it's such a long road !!! I always pick my orders at the airport, because UPS will take at least 2 days to deliver !! Fedex is really faster, they can deliver in 3 days from California !!! And they have beautiful women working for them : it's a pleasure to stop at their office !!! USPS : ONE MONTH for anything !!! They give you enough time to forget what you ordered !!! So far, I've never had any broken items delivered. But some items never came !! Hopefully, it was on ebay and paid with Paypal, so I got refunded easily!

What do you plan for frontstage ? With so much bass, you will need something powerful !!! That enclosure is sick ! I have one 15" xcon in my car, but I can't imagine 2 of them pounding right in my back !!!!!!! Congratulations !!! BTW Hemi is on the forum for several years, and it's only his first post ! (Was he locked somewhere ? )

You can use an amplifier to run these speakers. a simple 2 channnel amp if you go with a component set(passive), or a 4 channel amp if you buy one pair of tweeters and one pair of mids(active).

With a big box like that, you can have a great subwoofer setup! Sundown Z or SA, ssa xcon, Fi ssd or bl,....... I don't know anything about your amp, but can you keep it for now, and get a really good 15" sub , or 2 smaller ones ? You will change the amp later if you feel the need.

a 10" in the doors? Dam...! BTW I would love to see how you instal the horns in your car.

Take a look at the ssa shop, and at the Fi website, and then come back with some more specific questions. What do you listen to, in what car, electrical upgrades, box specs(if you can) ...? You can find much better subs than the AQ sdc and Hifonics amps!! Here are some brands to look at : Fi, SSA, Sundown, DC, ...etc Good luck !
