  1. You already have the new Icon ? Congrats ! Poor little car !!! lol
  2. daaaaaamnn a single 15 BTL will make me upgrade?? Not good lol. Guess I will have to stick with SSD's and hope it beats my previous system. I don't think the Btl will make you upgrade !!! Only a bigger amplifier will do so ! If you just want to run your btl with 1500 - 2000 watts, you should be fine with the big3 and a secondary battery. If I listen to M&Cheese I may be wrong. From btl to ssd ? There are other FI sub between these 2. 2 12" Icon on a 1500-2000 watts amp should be dam good too!!! : there goes my vote !
  3. On some other forums(more sq oriented !! as they say) or in pas magazine, they don't like to run their sub amp at 1 ohm. They tell you it's hard on the car electrical system and bad for sound quality. I went from 650w at 4 ohms to 1000 at 1 ohm on my ssa Icon, and I never felt the bass was worse. I trusted ssa gurus !!! Now, I run a saz 1500 on stock eleectrical system, and I have NO Problem at all !!!
  4. Yes it works, but after some testings it takes time to load pics and pages. I will try it longer later tonight and tell you more. But still like it !!!
  5. I've never listened to a ssd. I didn't think 2 12" ssd could be in the same league as one 15" BTL ! I'd go with the btl (the bigger, the better!!!) and a Sundown saz 1500 or 2000d. It may be difficult to find a 2000d for $400. Who knows? But there are lots of subs in the market.
  6. works great on my blackberry bold ! It goes fast, and I am only on GPRS, not on 3G+. I love it ! The "light" theme was too boring.
  7. Thanks for these info. Gotta read these links asap.
  8. 4 15" Icon in a Géo , with 2 AP3000 and 4 or 5 batts !!! I would never thought it is possible !! I know this is such a little car. How do you like your Icons? How do the car like it ? Can you still drive it ? Why did you change? You had 2 bl or 2 btl ? Great build so far !!!
  9. oh ! That's really cheaper ! I just have to buy about 1 m (3.3 ') 0 ga wire for the ground. So, two 4 gauge wires with an 80 amp fuse for each is good. No need to change. I like this forum : quick and honest answers from real specialists !!! Thanks again KU40 !
  10. lol me too but it can be interesting for some people !
  11. You think it's more important to change the ground rather than the block ? I will do both today, If I have enough cash!
  12. Hi all, I've just installed my new amp : a saz 1500. I had the saz1000 on my 15" xcon. I did it this past week end, so I could not buy what I needed. I used the distribution block I already had. I have a 0 ga wire coming from the under hood battery to the trunk, and coming trough a dist block with 3 "out" : 1 for the sax50.4 amp with a 60amp fuse and the 2 others are now used for the saz1500 with a 80 amp fuse for each wire. So, I have 2 4ga wires that goes into the bass amp instead of one 0ga from the dist block to the amp. Is it safe ? I did not change the ground wire from 4 ga to 0ga, but I will do it today because it might not be safe at all now! Is it worth changing the distribution block and changing the type of fuse ? I just have simple round fuses. Without the wire upgrades, I can say that I really have more power for my sub !!! The difference is huge, and I love it!!! Sundown FTW ! Thanks for all your answers.
  13. 2 ssd (or 2 bl for future upgrades) should sound good. Leave some room in the trunk : 2 12"s would fit nice.
  14. It would not look cool to run just one sub !! Take a look at the ssa dcon; maybe you can have 2 of them. I've never listened to them, but they have great reviews. And ssa products are sooo goooood!
  15. Hi, You're coming from far. Get the dimensions of the box you want to fit in your car. From that point it will be easier to help you. Whatever sub(s) you will get from FI will be a good upgrade for your system! 40 45 hz tuning ? It's pretty high for music.
  16. X2 Save and get a BL (or another very good sub). If you take a D2 and a good box, maybe you won't need to upgrade so quickly ! I'm sure you can find a good used sub from the ssa members. I think there is a sale going on the Sundown Z, take a look. I don't know if that will suit your needs. .
  17. Oh yeah ! I love it too. Must be a good point, at least on the marketing side ! The actual Icon is still a pretty sexy woofer!!!
  18. Oooooohhh that is so nice ! I want to see it in the car.
  19. X2 Look at the Fi bl, Sundown subs,...the choice is yours !
  20. 4 15" xcon ? In a grand am ?? OMG That should be a great challenge! What to expect from 2 AQ 2200 strapped ? More than 4000 watts?
  21. Congrats man! I hope you will like them. . .
  22. Congratulations ! I did not think these Z woofers were so impressive! Big score. The 2nd box is really nice. I need to take a look at the Sundown website.
  23. Ok then, go with the sa 12's. Don't forget to post pics when you can! Someday I will try a single nightshade 12 or 15 to see what I can do on the meter!
  24. You're on the good way with Sundown ! I did not know the sa 12 could handle so much power daily. If you have the good box, go for them. The Sundown saz2000 is a much better amp, as I read it here. But the AQ will do the job. Why did you forget the Nightshade? Too expensive ? 2 Fi BL 12" should be a good option for you. Good luck
  25. So, you're looking for separate speakers, on specific amps. Do you want midbass, midrange and tweeters, or juste a mid and a tweeter? 2 way or 3 way ? Difficult to help you : we don't what kind of speakers you like, which ones you don't like and why. That could help a lot! Ask M5 for advices, but do it right if you want helpful answers !
