  1. Here are pics of the piece of wire I had for the big 3 5+ alt to + batt) : I took it out. The alternator is regulated, I'll let it work ! I kept the grounds only, for the big3.
  2. little update : I put the rear battery under the box, in the spare tire location. You can see how much room I gained ! Now there is another piece of carpeted wood to cover that "hole", so it's cleaner than this picture.
  3. With this budget, you should keep the stock head unit, and get an adapter (LOC type) or an amplifier which accepts high levels inputs. I would look for strong 4 channel amplifier on a set of comps and a sub...just to cut budget. Take a look at the brands you can find in the SSA Store. They're legit, from what I understand ! I hope you can have a box built easily.
  4. I've never tried a Gcon. I would choose the Icon for sure !
  5. So much power on the Seas ? And they look brand new ? I'm happy to read that ! Mine are on 40 watts and I feel they are kind of loud ! I wonder how they sound with much more power. I'm waiting on your opinion about the SSA mids...
  6. You can ask here for a box deign and have someone local build it for you. Try this forum and facebook : you will find a lot of box designers and box builders. Good luck.
  7. sound similar or not ? Don't argue with M5 : he can read, and he knows what he's talking about. I know I'm biased towards SSA, but we're on their forum : they have enough good subs on their store to promote ID or JL !!! Personally I love the Icon : it can be loud af, and it sounds sooo good !
  8. Whatever you chose, you should get a custom box, tuned to 32-34 Hz. You can have one single sub, and keep money for the custom box and sound deadening...
  9. now I can see the last one and the one with the baffle and the single 18 with the hole ready. What happened to the other pics ?
  10. Hello guys. I tried to come up with something. What do you think about it ? External dimensions : 15.75" x 13.78" x 30" Port : (12.3" x 3.2") x 30.71" 30.71" in the box, it got to be an L port ! That should be 2.4 cu Ft @ 35 Hz, with 39.49 sq inch of port area.

  12. Hello guys, I used to get designs from Ram, but he's no longer in business. Who can help me ? I need a design for a new box. The sub is an Orion HCCA (latest one, 2500 w rms). Tha car is a 206 Peugeot, it's small hatchback car. Ampifier : Crescendo BC 2000 Max dimensions : 35 x 40 x 90 cm 13.78" x 15.74" x 35.43" or 13" 3/4 x 15" 3/4 x 35" 2/5 I want a L port, with a 34 Hz tuning. Goal is loud, musical, not only focus on the lows. It's not a burp setup at all. Sub up, port up. Please. I'm in a hurry !
  13. Nice score, nice build! Do you have more pics of the car, the install ?

  15. It makes me remember I need to do something in my car ! Trunk floor, trunk lid, and front doors.
  16. You're trying to learn, that is a good thing ! There are a few interesting books to read. But don't forget it's music : you need to listen, to try some product. When you say a BTL and a DD9500 are on the same level, musically, I smile : you never tried one of them. Have fun !

  18. Fi builds for FI, SSA, AA, ... in the USA. And their subs are not the same. But they are very different to DD, or Soundqubed subs, or even to Sundown subs ! Obviously you don't know what you're talking about. You should stop, and have some good reading sessions !!!!

  20. I had a 12" BTL N2 in a 2.5 ft3 box, with kerfed port and all... It sounded very nice, and I was in the 139-140 db range (sealed on dash). I sold it to a friend, he bought a new recone and a basket, and now it's a 15" sub : it's wayyyy louder ! No comparison possible. On quite the same power ! I can't even imagine an 18" BTL ! You can be loud with a 12" sub, but not as loud on music with the same sub in a much bigger size. NO WAY ! Going from a FI btl to a DD ? I tried that with a DD9515 : what a disappointment ! A DD is not as musical than a Fi/SSA/AA sub. Have you ever owned one of those subs ?

  22. I've had no problem with any of the SSA or Fi subs I had. Me and my friends have ran a few of them, and we are more and more happy ! I try to not abuse my equipments, but I can't speak for my friends !!!
