help with sub...
I would say Dcon 10". But I think you can find a lot of 10" sub around here. Does he already have the amp? There are some little combos on the ssa shop. Look around. You will have a warranty with them too.

buying a Xcon 15
You're finally here!! It's going to be hard to fit a ported box for a 15" Xcon. You could try the 12". but, you can have very good advice here, on box building. Look at fishercustoms forum, poundthatsound forum, or audibelcustom forum, here. Some of them had (or have) a fantastic offer : an SSA sub bought, you get a custom box for free!!! And, yes, it takes about a week to get built. I don't know about your amp, but if it is 1 ohm stable, it's good : take the dvc 2ohms sub to play at 1 ohm. Keep your amp, but focus on the box. Maybe you will have to go sealed?

knukonceptz wire vs others
I use a Stinger power kit in 0 ga, and I realize it's not pure cooper at all. Is it really better to use pure cooper? (For a future instal, because I don't want to re-do my instal!) Is there a significant difference for a 1000-2000 watts rms setup?

Want a new Setup
those dimensions are for 12", not 15". I don't know if the Icon would be louder, I've never heared the Kicker, only the 15 Icon and it pounds hard!!! I love it!

4 Kicker CVR 15" Box Build
If he has them for free, why not? It could be fun, and loud. If not, tell your friend to come over here to see! People will suggest him much better sub, depending on his goals. I think he wants to be loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can be loud with less subs, but 4 15" is always impressive in a car!!!

New system...help.
Listen to Jay cee : a Fi Bl and a SAE 1200 should be fine. This will pound as hell , as you said !!! Just be sure to build a good box. Before you buy anything, you'd better check the room you have available for a box in your trunk. You must know what size of sub you can really fit in the trunk.

Making an entire setup
I don't think you will find people who have listened to all these high end sets! Which ones can you test ? Tell us what you think. But speakers choice is difficult on the internet! Of course, the icon is good, but with your budget and power(1 amplifier) a less powerful sub may be a better choice. You'll see what the people here tell you.

Making an entire setup
You can't go active and have a sub on a 4 ch amp. I may be wrong, as I'm not a pro at all! Just buy the better comp you can, and some deadening for the doors(secondskin damplifier or other). It seems that you don't need a big sub, so, look for a 10" : incriminator, ssa, Fi,...are good brands. A 400 watts sub would be enough with your amp power(200 to 400 w?) Tell us what you think, what you find.

Want a new Setup
Those are for the 15" ? No? Just for the 12". The OP is talking about the 15" one. I thought the soloX was the huge Kicker spl sub, sorry! Don't know if a 15 Icon will be louder than what you got already : never heared these subs.

Want a new Setup
ok, you already got 2 12 subs. and You need more !! Listen to nmssd12 : you can find great combos there. Icon-saz1000 or Xcon-saz1500 : it's up to you. Don't forget you may need another size of power and ground cable (0 ga). Forget about the solo x : I think it's a spl competition sub, not so good for playing music, and it needs a 5000 watts amp!!!!!!! Keep on reading on the different forums here.

2004 Isuzu Rodeo Install
1400 x 1 = 1400 The impedance is 1 ohm in your equation and it's what your amp see ! So, you should reach 37.42 volts. Am I right, or not ?!!

Badmouthing my setup
In my car, the only equipement I bought in one of our few shop is my Focal comp set : this particular shop is an official Focal dealer. I bought my hu in a shop too, but in Paris (France), when I was on a trip for my job ! I can't use US head units because of the different fm radio system. Amps, sub, wiring, etc... : online shopping!! The only place I could fing 0 Ga ring terminal is an accessories shop for boats !

What are your goals for your system? What do you want? Express yourself!!! If you want people to help you. How did you choose the BL ? ... etc

Most musical with lots of output
RE XXX, I don't think he is going for spl competitions!!! A 10" sub can be more than enough for a lot of people, even in a small sealed box. But I can't say nothing on the subs you talked about ttcald, sorry. All these brands seem to make quality products.

Sundown 50.4 installed
nice! I love my 50.4 too !!! I had a Boston gt42 before (with rear speakers) , I liked it too. But I know I have a lot more power now : the 50.4 is in a 2 channel mode. The speakers seems to be alive now, more clarity, more tweeters, more mid. I did not imagine the change would be so important!!! It's a real improvment on my sound system. People say that all amps seems to sound the same, but I can clearly hear the difference. Maybe it's just the power, because I set the amp by ears, not with a DMM. I have turned down the gain 3 times since I installed this amp. And I still have to lower the speakers level on the head unit. Gotta find some time to adjust everything! Enjoy yours. The saz 1000D is another little monster you will love, for sure !!!

noise from my Pioneer deh 88 prs2
Notorious97200 replied to Notorious97200's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI finally did it !!! I took all the rca's and put a wire (on their neg) to the ground. It was easy to do; I did not have to take the hu out, only the dash! Now, the noise is still there, but you can only hear it at low volume with the engine on. And it is not loud at all. I like it like that!!! It's just a bandaid, not a professional repair thing, but it's good enough for me!!! I am really happy. This noise was disturbing me a lot. Thanks to you all. I must admit that I did it myself because I saw some pics of this "operation" on another forum, after a google search. I am not a manual guy, and the pics did help me a lot. I can't remember where I saw them, but it could be helpful to others. Sorry , I did not take pics myself, I will try to do it another time. Thanks again.

Enclosure Designs & Fisher Customs
I bought a design for a 15" Xcon : 3.5 ft3 at 32HZ. The box was made by the xcon owner : it's beautiful, and sounds soooo good. No port noise, we can listen to low notes and the higher ones, lot of pressure in the car !!!!!!! I don't know if it is the sub or the box, or both, but we just love it!!! as everyone who listen to it! Here's a picture coming from my gallery on this site. Take a look. Thanks FC ! I will be back !!!
