What kind of music do you like ? What car, power,...? I had run both in 15" and I loved the L7. It gets loud and low, but I think the L7 gives you less details in the music. For rap it may be ok, but not so good on other kind of songs. I tried several sealed boxes for the L7 : the bigger the better for sure ! It needs room. The Icon is a very different driver, can't compare Icon and L7 easily. TheIcon can be loud, but it plays music, not just boom. Whatever you listen to, it will satisfy you. And the L7 canot be reconed. You will have to get another one if you have a problem with it. Kicker is a good company, get the L7 at an authorised dealer to have a replacement easily. The Icon is totally reconable. And the customer service is top notch. It's up to you. But remember : the box is VERY important. Be sure to have a proper one, whatever driver you get.

I had both on the same amp and in the same box, same car. Both are great drivers. But if you have the money, get the Xcon. You already have enough power.

Try 2 4" aeroports. It was enough with my Xcon 15", or with a 15" BTL N2. Enough for my taste. No port noise, no problem at all.

You have a problem with SSA or what ? The topic is about the Xcon, not about another sub. Tell us what you dislike, or what you like about this particular sub : the Xcon. OP, you can't be disappointed with 2 Xcons. You'll love them, like everyone I gave a listening session on mine.

Keep your box OP, and go to the meter to know your score. Then you will see if you want a bigger amplifier (need to work on the electrical) and/or another box strictly for comps. A new box would be cheaper to get, but don't forget you will still need your current one to listen to your music every day.

As the title says, do you have the sundown Neopro 8" in stock ? (the 8 Ohm speakers). A friend of mine wants a set or two, but we want to know if they are available before we oder anything. Let me know, please.

They already gave you an answer. Keep your box, but add a port in it. If you're on a super tight buget, try some pvc tube. It will be faster than waiting to build another box, and it will sound very good.

I don't understand why so much people use fiberglass in their daily boxes. As if it was very important to do ! It's a lot of work for un-audible results. Maybe there's something I missed ?! I'm not talking about competition boxes, that's another story, for sure.

Try to find a used Sundown saz 1500 : would be a very good match with your subs. I know Crescendo and DC make cheap 2000 w amps. Take a look at them before buying the Hifonics. You already have a Kicker amp ? So you could run a single zx 1500 to the subs. Sell the one you have for the 1500. I'm sure you can find very good deals here. good luck !

Looks loud AND painfull ! You almost killed the guy in the first vid ! I see a wall for two 18" but you showed 12"s. There's something I don't understand. Sorry And you will run your amp at 0.25 daily ? Save some money for a second amp. 0.25 is looowwwww !

Good news, OP ! The 1000 w amp is not bad ! If you're satisfied with a 400 w amp (the 125.2) keep it and use it. Don't need to have !!!

I like the idea of buying gold ! It becomes more and more expensive in these times of economical crisis. There are more and more shop buyong used/old gold in my country. their buying prices are going up regularly, but they are still way under the real market costs. They make good deals everyday ! But not on mine ! I keep my gold as long as I can !

Get another similar amp if you can, for the second sub. It's a good match. You will need to work on the electrical system of your cr to handle all those watts ! 0.5 Ohm is very low for daily use, and require a very very STRONG electrical : HO alt and several AGM batteries. Your DD-1 is not a magical tool ! Personnally I've never used anything but my ears to set gains on my amps. Never fried anything so far, for years.

1.5 and 1.5 get you to 0.7 on the amp. Impedance rise seems to come from the box. I'm no expert at all, so let some others tell you what they think.

As they say in my country : "bon maché couté chè" !!! It means that cheap things are finally expensive ! You need to work again to remove it, and then buy something else. It would have been cheaper to get some SS, dynamat or SDS first. But I understand that the OP wanted to test a new product, before installing it in a friend's car. OP, use it on the floor of the cabin and the trunk if you have some left. Don't try to sell it again.
