  1. OK, now you're talking to a serious guy ! I bought a PSP port a few years ago. It was nice, but I will never do that again : now, I use PVC tubes, and I can flare both ends. It's not perfect as a PSP port, but it's MUCH cheaper, I can found what I need locally, ready to use. With a good looking paint, I can even show it outside the box (to save box volume).
  2. Why do you want to stay sealed ? Ported box can sound really good, if you know what you're doing. I always feel like going sealed is a waste of bass You loose the bass trapped in the box ! Honnestly sealed enclosures are easier to run, and sound good easily. It's up to you.
  3. How do you like the sound, the output ? 6" is on the small side, and 8" seems good for yoour setup. When you wtite 3.5 to 4.5 box, you must be talking of net volume, because an 8" port will take a lot of space in that volume. And a ZV.5 is a huge sub. I'm waiting on what others will tell you. (I'm not an expert at all!).
  4. Why build a 4th order bandpass box when a regular ported box is more efficient, easier to build, and takes less room ? I'm really not getting it ! OP, can you tell me why or how did you make your choice ? Maybe I'm missing something. (I'm here to learn ...and have fun).
  5. The tweeters are heavy, they look nice. You want to touch them, like a high end product. Congratulations. Smooth, accurate, more musical than my old Focal tn52. I'm still listening to those new SSA tweets with a good smile on my face !
  6. All your products are very well priced. I won't say they are cheap, but they all seem to be worth every penny ! I was just surprised when I saw the amps price, with not so much informations about them. I hope I will be able to get one soon !
  7. Maybe you should explain more. Tell us what benefits do they have, why are they really good, how "not cheaply made" they are,... Sorry for those questions, but those are your first amps. I don't know what to expect, and why should I buy them (and change both my IA amps !). I'd still love to get that 4ch class D...
  8. Thanks I'll try it on my current enclosure.
  9. Those amps lokk nice, kind of an old school look. Maybe I will get one, or both, someday. They're not cheap though...
  10. I've heard a pair of 18" Zv4 and I did not like that setup. I don't know if the box what good for them, but 2 SP4s in the same box and it was a night and day difference. The Fi were much more musical than the Sundown (only the lows would hit right). That is just one experience, so I can't really judge the Sundown subs. I can only talk about the Fi subs, as I have more experience with them.
  11. Welcome !
  12. i was thinking the same. I've just installed a freshly reconed sub, and I run it as usual. No break in, no smell. I have a good enclosure, but the amps settings are made by ears !
  13. Tuned in No updates so far ? Good luck.
  14. I had an Xcon 15" in a 3 cu ft sealed box. It was nice. The sound was really good, and I had a lot of output too ! I wouldn't use it in a smaller sealed box. If you already have subs, it would be much cheaper to work on a new custom box, for them. Maybe you could just port your current box for your 12s, with some 4" PVC pipes. Ask some good designers here.
  15. Happy birthday !
  16. Welcome to the forum ! What a first post ! Good luck ! But without a budget...
  17. Got mine today !
  18. If you run components you don't need a DSP. And you can have as much sets you want ! If you run a DSP each speaker should be on its own channel : so 2 mids and 2 tweeters on your 4 ch amp, or mids on 2 channels and tweeters on the 2 others.
  19. If you have 2 Ohms speakers, your amplifier will see that impedance, no need to have a "special wiring" ! 2 x 100 is plenty for front speakers, you don't need to run 200 w to sound good and be loud. Good luck with your current comp set. I hope it's still working.
  20. Already installed and tested ? I'm waiting for the first review for those SSA tweeters. (Mine are on their way...°
  21. Or just get an external dsp : no need to use anything else. But you'll need 4 channels of amplification. That is what I did, from M5 advice.
  22. Why not ? A little more cash, and you can get a brand new Icon, or maybe a used one ?
