  1. Thanks runs great needs a new paint job and some eye candy rims lol at least !!!
  2. try to run them on the 750.1. You may loose power, but you have 2 subs (lot of cone area). When you have the money for a second amp get one or sell the 750.1 and get a 1500-2000 w amp.
  3. Rockford, Kicker, Alpine, Stetsom,...all makes big power at 2 Ohms. It will be easy to find a good amp for your subs. All you need is the money ! Better be sure your subs are Dual 2, before buying anything. 0.5 is not good for most amps, try 2 Ohms.
  4. Nice choice. Sell this 200.4 and get a 125.2 or 100.2. You can find cheap 4 ch amp that you could run bridged on your comp set. Good luck for your system ! Show us pics! ;-)
  5. From what I know, as long as you are within the manufacturer recommendations , it will play correctly. But the bigger size box will be more linear. The smaller may have a peakier response. Some more informed people will help you better, for sure !
  6. My btl is a D2. Won't be able to run 2 at 1 ohm ! I want a new box with more port area ! And maybe a little higher tuning, 34 hz.
  7. Edouble : the ignorant in this case is ME. I know nothing about phase switch ! Sorry if you misunderstood what I was trying to say ! I always try several enclosures for my subs. This one is the first I have for my btl. I don't have room for a big box. Max : 3.5 ft3 net for 1 sub. Shipping costs are always very expensive for me, so I don't want to order more than 1 sub for my personal use Thanks.
  8. I live too far away to send it back and forth : shipping is soooo expensive to Martinique in the Caribbeans !!! "Since you have a 3000d. What about two 12" woofers?" : I need to sell the sub first ! And why not ? But 2 (cheaper) subs may be more expensive than a single btl or Zcon, or Nightshade ! I will try to ask Ryan at Ram designs. I will see what is possible.
  9. If I have no more suggestions,or results, I will try to sell the 12"btl to get a 15" one. I already have a box for it !
  10. Maybe I've missed it ; but what size of L7 ? 12" ? If the deal is so great, you can get it and sell all the 3 subs. You keep the good amp and get money to buy a better sub you will be able to port in your trunk. If you go withthe sealed L7, go as big as you can. Don't try to fit the subs in the smallest recommanded sizes by Kicker. I had some L7 15" in the past, and Kicker said they could fit in any box between 2 and 6 cu ft ! I tried in a 2 cu ft box and I did not like it. In a 6 cu ft nox it was day and night : much more output, clarity and low end ! good luck, and post some pics when you can !
  11. Out of phase ? Really ? I may try that at low volume !
  12. There is only one slot port, and it is about 8" away from the side of the car. maybe a little less. Never tried sub up/port back : I am scared of the results on the trunk lid. I don't want to break anything in the door lock !
  13. I also own a second amp for the bass : a Sundown saz 1500 v1. I can sell any of them, but I know the saz 3000 will give me more power, for sure !!!
  14. Hi guys, I currently run a Fi BTL N2 12" on a Sundown saz 3000 amp. I have no problem with the electrical, even if I know I may not push all the watts this amp can deliver ! My box was designed by Bromo of Eclectic Design (or something like that) : 2.1 ft3 with a slot port (32 hz tuning) firing through the (driver) side. The sub is firing up. The box is well braced too. It sounds good, but I want more output ! I can have another box built easily, and I already own two 4" flared (on both ends) ports. Those ports are in a 3.2 ft3 box used for a Soundstream XXX 15", for now. But I can get it back fast. This box may be too big for the 12" btl. What do you think about it ? I need some suggestions on a new box. It can have slot port or round ones. The car is a 4 doors Toyota Auris hatchback, and I feel like too much bass is trapped in the back of the car ! I had a box with a slot port, with port and sub firing up, and I did not like it too much. It was not loud at all. It was with SSA subs (a 15" Icon and later a 15" Xcon). I tried a box with the 4" ports firing to the side and it was much better. Do you think it would be better to have the box above the rear seats ? Right now it is just under them, but I don't know if it is imortant. I'm waiting on suggestions. Thanks.
  15. I like this topic. Very informative. SSA rules !!! Thanks guys !
  16. Clipping ? Gain set right ? dunno !
  17. I don't understand why you want your sub to play midbass. It's a Subwoofer, not a Midwoofer ! You can get a (good) component set, instal it right with dampening and everything. It will play midbass as you want. But you'd better chose some good speakers for that, not always the most expensive. I run a set of Focal 165 KP, and my midbass are niiiice ! If I turn down the sub, my system can still play music nicely. You don't need an expensive set like that but I found some Aura midbass speakers recently, they are very cheap and really nice in the midbass area ! All you need with them, is a tweeter that can be cross low enough. Good luck !
  18. You can find cheap voltmeters anywhere. Do the big 3 in 0 Ga, maybe add a secondary battery in the rear, and you will be good to go ! Sell that cap for a few dollars : it will pay for the 0 Ga wire and ring connectors for the big 3.
  19. OP, you'd better follow those advices. You're lucky to have some of the geat mods taking care of you !!! Don't waste that.
  20. A 90-120 amps alt should handle a 1200 watts amp easily. I'd rather get better speakers and sub than a very good amplifier. But If you can have the Sundown amp for cheap, go for it ! Another idea : Get her a little (Sundown SA for example) sub, and a 4 ch amp : so you'll have 2 ch for the speakers, so you could use the high pass filter on them, and 2 ch bridged for a sub (using the LPF).
  21. Nice saxo man ! It may be the first one I like !!! How and why did you get those subs with the SMD basket ? What advantage for that ? Nice system. I bet it's loud. Awesome scores on such low frequencies. CONGRATULATIONS !
