Hello Fi, A friend of mine has a pro audio set up, and needs to know if it is possible to have recone kits for some Aura subs. They use Neodymium (?) . He loves how they sounds, they play low and loud ! I can show you pics of the drivers when he send them to me. He has several ones to recone, they are very old ! These speakers won't go in a car, just in big boxes for live events. thanks

A 32 Hz tune is not really for spl ! go over 35 if you want pure spl numberz ! Not a lot of songs play under 30 Hz ; but 25 Hz ?!!! It must be something special !!! Just my 2 cts !

We finally bought 4 Aura midbass speakers. Big thanks to 98GMC : my friend loves them ! He installed two in each front door, but he had to take out a burnt set of medium Davis and a set of "GK" Davis too. Results : too much midbass and not enough mids ! Finally he only kept one Aura in each door and put back the set of (expensive and big) GK. Now he loves it ! the sound is accurate now : the congas and percus(drums) are wonderful : we had to turn the bass down, it was already soooo beautiful !!! I think a set of midbass like those and a tweeter that can play low enough would be a good front stage !! Maybe I'll try something like that one day ! I ordered on a thursday afternoon, and received all 4 speakers the next tuesday; I would have gotten them on monday evening, but the Customs wanted to take some money from me. They got it ! That was a super fast delivery !!!! He wants to buy some more to build some speakers for his pro audio equipment !!!!!

If you listen to rap, I'm sure it can sound good. It may be different for jazz. Tell us more and show us pics!!!!pleaaase !

What is your budget for amp and subs ? L7 are not so bad, they get loud and low if they're in a big enough box !

Your amp gives more than 1000 watts at 2 Ohms ? Or at only 1 Ohms ? Maybe you're giving the sub less than 500 watts. But it should be loud on 500 too ! Good luck !

I thought the Fi Q and the AA Havoc were quite the same !

I don't think the SS XXX are strong enough to handle their rated power ! 10400 watts rms !!!! 4000 seems to be too much for them. They have big success in my country, but blow fast !!! Maybe it's user error though. So, don't take it for granted !!!

Dual 1 or dual 2 ? We need to know what amp will you use for the sub. A 1 Ohm stable amp : Dual 2 to play at 1 Ohm. A 2 Ohm stable amp only : dual 1 to play at 2 Ohms

Are you sure it was not the song you played that was sending a clipped signal? This happened to me when I got my btl.
