  1. I love Porsche ! The Xcon can be very loud, but the BTL is a beast ! I had used both, and I love them both. I'd love a Zcon, but it wasn't out when I needed a sub, and the light weight of the BTL N2 was very interesting for my little car ! Good luck !
  2. Sorry guys. I think he's going to buy or has already bought a Kicker Warhorse ! But I personally, would like to try a Stetsom 2k5 (or something like that) on my BTL N2. I'm thinking about it.
  3. There is a fuse right after the front battery, then a distr block in the back just before the rear bettery. A fuse in inline just between rear batt and the amp. And another fuse between the distro block and the mids amp. everything works fine, so far. I need something more ?
  4. You're looking for a BTL or a Zcon (not released yet). IMO The Xcon is not made to "take an enormous amount of power".
  5. That is dangerous ? I'd better use a fuse instead of the distribution block ? Sorry OP
  6. I'm not expert in any way, but I feel like the OP wants to drive his RedBull Formula1 to commute everyday in the traffic jams ! Maybe it can work ?!
  7. I was thinking about that http://darvex.com/st...Block-26p14.htm just for power. There is the same for ground. I use one in my install, and I was so happy to find it. My power wire was too short when I tried to add a batt in the back, so I used it. One side is going to my mids amp, and the other to the secondary batt (and to the bass amp, with a 150A fuse). The third is the input from the front battery of course. I hope you understand what I mean !
  8. Maybe your sig is not up to date, but 4 ga is weak for so much power. But your electrical seems good for now. That won't be strong enough for a 3500 watts amp.
  9. Ok, it's what I already told my friend. Fi is just asking for some dimensions. I hope he will be able to get them right for Fi. Thanks , Duran !
  10. Not trying to start anything with you at all. This is just information I've gathered from talking to nick over the course of the past month. If I knew then what I knew now I would surely have n3s instead of n2s as I personally loved the intense response of my geb 2 btl You think the Gen 2 was...more intense than the N2 ? How do you compare both ? I've never heared the Gen2, but I love my 12" N2 ! To the OP, if you can afford the btl N2, then, get it !!! On my 1500 watts amp, it shines, already ! I will run a 2500 watts amp soon (my sub is fully loaded). It will shine, even more !
  11. Gaha. If you like your recones to be complete shit. Fi or PAP : I have enough choice with them ! This David from esse emmme something : huuum, dunno ! I won't try.
  12. Thanks guys. I received answers from Fi (they can do it easily !) and from PAP(they have 2 models in stock). They're fast ! I like that. I let my friend think about it and decide. He was not using the SSF on his amp, saying he would lost frequencies in the lows !!! And he thinks his (small for an 18") box is tuned to 36 Hz !!!
  13. I'd get the saz1500 for the Xcon. But it will work fine withe 1200. Plan to buy a voltmeter to put in your car to check your voltage drops, if your alternator is weak.
  14. ROFL That video is...........nice ! But I love the banner about loosing weight with Fi !!!
  15. You can find a cheaper amp than that Kicker. What VC do you have on it ? DVC 4 : you play at 2 Ohms (or 8 !) DVC2 : you play at 1 ohm (or 4). Playing at 1 ohm will be cheaper, 1000 watts at 1 ohm can be cheaper than 1000 at 2 ohms. It's not worth / safe running a 1500 watts amp to that sub.
  16. You don't need the zx 1500 for this sub. the zx 1000 is "made" for it ! That would leave you some money for some feet of 0 ga wire and some connectors to do the big 3. It would be better. but it can work without. Just install and check your voltage to see if you have voltage drops.
  17. ok thank you. I'll try to find them.
  18. It depends on your car. I had a 1500 w Sundown amp on stock electrical, with big grounds everywhere( batts, amps, engine block,...) and no problem at all. Now I have a secondary Kinetic 1200 battery in the back, and my voltage went up a bit. But with engine off, the voltage is a lot more higher than before, and won't go down easily with music on) ! My car has a diesel engine, and must have a big stock alt. You need to try ! I had a 15" (SSA Icon and then Xcon) sub taking up all the room in my trunk. Now I run a 12" BTL, so the box is smaller, and I could fit the Kinetic battery easily. I have much more bass now ! Sell the Q, and get a Fi btl or a SSA Xcon or Zcon(when it's released). You should love any of them. I tried aeroports, and yes, it can make you save room for a 15" sub. Not really for a 12" , the box is too small !
  19. One of my friend has a problem with one of the 4 coils on his Soundstream XXX 18" (QVC 1°). I think it's blown; it was smelling burnt friday night. This sub is only a few months old. He had a Hifonics Brutus on it (3000 watts rms at 1 Ohm). He admits the box is way too small, and he never uses the SSF on his amp !!!!!!!!!! So, is it possible to find a recone kit for this sub ? And where ? Thanks in advance.
  20. Dam, I need to get an saz 2500 or 3000, now that I have a secondary battery (just a small Kinetic 1200 though !). I'm sure my btl will love the new amp !!!
  21. voted for them n°10 ! , I'll tell you if I receive wedding emails !!! lol
  22. Use a passive filter for your speakers, you will protect your tweeters. Don't hook the tweeters directly on the mid
  23. I say : get the D2 and the (2) saz 1500 amps. $700 for both, the 3500 is more expensive, and the 500 watts more won't be noticed. If you want to change later, it will be easier to sell each item rather than all the system. You will only neeed to link the amps : it's easy to do, no gain to match... If an amp fail, you will still have bass. If you have a problem with the 3500 : no bass until it get fixed. It's up to you. Good luck !
  24. Nobody asked what VC config he has on these L7? It's important to know before telling the OP to buy this or that. If they are DVC2 : Get the Kicker 1500 If they are DVC4 : you can get a 1 Ohm stable amp : 1500 watts rms Sundown, Audioque,...etc These subs are rated for 750 watts rms when used in ported box; that is writen on the little book they come with. So 1500 watts is enough !!! 1500 or 2000 you won't notice the difference. good luck
  25. Just for curiosity : why does this matter ? I will add a secondary battery this afternoon, so, I would like to know about that.
