I still love the Xcon, and I will buy other ones in the future. If I had room and enough money,I would get (2) 12" Xcons on a 3500 watts amp with alt and batts. But I cannot do that. I'm selling mine because I have a customer for it and I want to try the new btl. I've never heared one, I will be the first btl and Fi owner in my country. Like with my SSA subs. I'm a seller, you know ! When I can sell something at a VERY VERY good price, I do it. If I'm disappointed with the btl I will go back to an Xcon quickly !

I will buy the 12" Btl N2, not the N1. I'll try to post a review when I get it, and pics of course ! I will keep the tuning as it is, I like it like that !!!

I like the 12" idea more, but I don't want to loose output. How do you think the 12" Btl will compare to the 15 xcon ? I listen to reggae, and rap mostly.

Hi, I'm about to sell my Xcon 15" locally. I know I will buy some more Xcons in the future, but for now I think I'm going to get the new Fi BTL. Here is my problem : I have a ported box with (2) 4" psp ports, 17" long each. Net volume (with one xcon) is about 3.1 - 3.2 ft3. So tuning is around 32-33 Hz. What would you do ? Get a 15" Btl or a 12" ? The box is on the small side for a 15" and maybe too big for a 12". I can make a smaller box in the future, but I need to use this one for a moment. Oh, I forgot to say that my car is a hatchback toyota Auris 4 doors, with a small cargo area. My amplifier is a Sundown saz 1500, and my electrical is good for the power I use. I watch my voltmeter to say so ! When money come, I may upgrade my amp to a 2500 watts one, but not for now at all : need to pay some taxes !!! I'm waiting for your help. thanks

Finally my friend decided to get 2 Orion hcca in 12". He made a small box with a very small port (!!!) but he seems to be happy. He admits that those subs don't play really low, like an Xcon. But I told him that the problem may come from his box.

I did it ! I had an Icon 15 on 1000 watts, and then I changed for an xcon, in the same box. The xcon is louder, deeper,...You will notice the change, for sure !! and you will be very happy with it. Just do it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :morepower1:

totally agree ! This is :suicide-santa:if it's your first system !!! Try a smaller one with less power. A 1000 watts rms sub will be enough to make your car shake a lot !!!! And it will not stress your electrical stock system. You will do the big 3 in 0 gauge and maybe add a second battery in the back. A Fi Bl should be enough. Or just a single Btl if you really wan to start big. But 2 BTL 18" on a AQ 3500 : wow !! that's way too much for a beginner. even if you have the budget. Start to focus on your front speakers first. It's easier to have a good bass than good mids & highs.

I would be afraid to use these things in my car, on my system. So far, I've never blown any sub or amp or speakers, and I don't want that to happen to me !!! But it might be cool on some songs, like on old reggae music : the bass lines were niiice, but not so low !!!

Nice package ! I will go to the store to find the price, as people are more and more impressed by the SSA subs, here in Martinique.

Go for it or save some more money to get a better amp. Maybe you can find some fantastic deals on used equipments ? Must be fantastic, with your budget ! Good luck:peepwall:

You could get two 12" for these 3000 watts. They will not need more room than the 18".

You need a great box for such great equipment. If you do everything right, I can't see how your friend is gonna be louder than you !!! congratulations for your choices !

A friend of mine has 2 15" Xcons in his little car. 4 ft3 and saz 1000 per driver. 30 Hz for box tuning. People refuse to get in his car because of the bass. It's ridiculous!!! some, with kind of spl setups(!!!), ask how he can sit in the car while demoing ! Loud bass is "easy", but if you want to understand all the bass lines and the music, it is much more difficult. The Xcon does it all, like a champ !!!

When I order all my Sundown amps from SSA , I receive them in 5 days ! and I live in the Carribeans. So, it must be even faster for you, Americans !
