fitting 40" in 34" =)
:puzzled:Never had access to a meter ! I saw one in a local comp, but I don't compete. Too much people would know and see what I have in the car ! My island is too small. Have to hide a little!!!

Opinions on a few amps
The Zed amp seems to be a killer deal at this price. You won't find better & cheaper ! and it really look so nice. On the cheap side, you can use 2 Audiopipe or Clarion amps : 1 for the sub and 1 for the speakers. It will be way less then $500 IMO.

I did not receive my order

What kind of box to choose ?
Hi guys, I 'm always trying to improve my system. I have a 15" xcon and a 1500 watts Sundown saz amp. The car is a hatchback toyota Auris, with a little trunk. I had a slot ported box with sub up and port up, at 3.5 ft3 at 32 Hz. This box was too big for the trunk, but I thought it was not the right one for my car. I've heared this same box in a smaller car, with the same setup, and it was ...insane. In my car, it was not really loud. I have, now, a 3ft3 sealed box, with the sub firing back ; I found it was better than firing up. So, here is my question : if I want to do another ported box, what would be the best choice ? Sub and port firing back, or sub up and port back (crx style?) ? What side should I put the port ? Passenger side or driver side ? I don't want to build too much boxes ! Wood, glue, and all, are not cheap around here:puzzled: . I want the best output for my system.

1 18 vs 2 15's
The single 18" may be the cheapest solution. But you have 3000 watts rms to use ! Your box is already built ? if you have to build the box you can do a single 15" in an optimum box. That can leave room in your trunk for amps, batts, air flow.. . 18" or 15", go for the single sub setup. But be sure to buy a strong and powerful sub.

2 ssd 12 vs 1 bl 15
Good choice on subs ! Don't buy the eq, don't buy the epic 160 : you don't need those! Forget about the RF cap too ! One set of components should be enough for your front (doors?). You don't need rear speakers at all. As or look around on the forum, and you will not see a lot of rear speakers. But you do need an amp for the speakers. The single BL will be cheaper, when you add shipping costs. Give it 1000 watts or a little more and you will love it. Honnestly, you can be good with a single 12" bl ported. You will be able to add a 2nd bl later on the same amp! Get a DVC 1 to play at 2 Ohms, with the 2nd you will have a 1 ohm load on your amp. Good luck.

amp choice?
You are telling him to get a 1200-1500 watts rms amp for a single ssd ? A smaller amp would be cheaper and would match the rms ratings of the sub. Saz 1000 for example (woofersetc has them all?), or...any 800 watts amp. He's on a small budget.

Ulrisa's Volvo S40 Build
Another Xcon owner/lover ! Waiting to see pics of your box and install! I'd like to have 2 xcons 12" in my car ! But I still need my back seats and my spare tyre (or tire ? dunno, lol), the trunk is too small for a big box, big amps and batts  .

Create more AC AMPS?
What happen to the stetsom amp you had ? you didn't like it ? You should be ok with such a beast of alt. I looked at the mla website : they have 2 models of mla module for Toyota. None of them fit in your Yaris ? I asked them if I could find one for my car. I want to try one. good luck

Loss of output
12.5 v ? You have too much voltage drops for only 750 watts. You should not have any at all ! IMO check your grounds again, and all your electrical system. add another big wire for a good ground on the negative post of your battery, if you don't want to do the big3 in 0 ga ((necessary for your future upgrades !!!). What size of power wire do you use from batt to amp ? Maybe it is too small. Some well knowledgeable members will help you more than I can ! good luck

Fi BTL Amp
I have the same power from my amps, but my voltage stays at 13.8 v. It never goes down, unless I use the A/C (can go down to 13.3v, at iddle). Highest voltage I can see is 14.13v after starting the engine on the morning. It's a 2-year car/stock battery. I have 0 ga from batt to the amps in the back, 0 ga for ground on batt and a bigger(than 0 ga) wire for engine block to ground. the big3 is not complete yet ! Each car is different. You must know how do yours react. So, instal everything first and watch your voltage. You will buy the second battery later. just my 2 cents.

Amp getting hot hot hot!
I live in a hot Caribbean island, and my Sundown amps can get hot even without playing ! They get really hot, but we are at 30°C (86°F) all day long, in the shade. Under the sun, it's hotter! My sub amp shut down only once : I was playing with the car off, at little volume, for a long time. When I drive the car, with the wind (hatchback car) or the A/C : it does not get very hot at all. remember 800 watts rms or 1000 on your sub : the additional power will not really be audible for your ears, maybe on a meter only. Sell your amp and find a good one with the power you need !!! Good luck !
