Speakers blown
Dayton could be nice and you could look at Peerless too. I think Zaph even has a caraudio set on Madisound using his new drivers. I was looking at the measurements on those for a HT speaker and they look nice. You could find something from all three and stay under budget.

Difference
LOL. Not even if i ask it again in a different way? Good stuff guys. Thanks.

@95 Honda See that what I am thinking and I am glad you brought that up. Strapping is easier, not better. Would you agree that series parallel is also the least efficient way of wiring up drivers or do you think it has no effect? Of the 2 examples below, which is more efficient or neither is going to have any effect? The equipment: 4 D2 Subs 4 amps 1. 2 subs wired series/parallel presenting a 2 ohm load on a strapped pair of amps. 2. 1 sub wired to one amp, with each coil wired to each amp terminal (4 wires) presenting a 1ohm load. I dont claim to know everything that's why I ask, but to me the shorter path of #2 would be more efficient. The series/parallel wiring has a longer current path. No? Sorry to take over your thread OP, hopefully my question is useful to you also.

amps
What is wrong with the Soundstream? I used to run Soundstream back in the day, the ref amps bring back some good memories. I dont think you are going to hear a difference between any of the amps you have, had, or are considering and unless you are going to double the power on them all you wont be any louder either. Do you just have some $$$$$ burning a hole in your pocket? I can help you out if so. lol

Got Ya. Thanks. Have you measured this or are you drinking agian? LOL I see what your saying, but I don't know about all that. Either way, I am going to test mine on the meter before and after as it will only cost me speaker wire and time.

Do I need 2 more 18's?
6 Zcons would be better. 4 is so played out.

Difference
I agree it would not be audible. However I do make it to some shows where louder is better. Since my system is low tuned ground pounder, < that aint changing, I have to look at other areas for small gains. This was one thought. Can you dumb that down for me Sean? I don't follow.

Sure, I welcome your input. Currently I am wired like so, 2 dual 2ohm subs ran to 2 strapped amps x 2 . LOL lots a 2's there. Lots of copper there too right? Got to keep in mind length of the voice coils that the power has to travel to and from being wired like this. Got to be a better way. So..................... I believe if I wire 1 sub to 1 amp using all 4 amp inputs (straight shot) and let the amp drop the load down, I would gain from this by eliminating the series/parallel wiring and reducing the length the current has to travel. Thoughts?

Ssa Zcon 18 power handling?
Wouldn't even notice a difference between 3 and 4 to the ear so......

Difference
I asked Mike Stiers about using the RCA out on my amps and he advised against it, said he would never use them personally. FWIW I would either strap them or use one amp per sub. My 4 are strapped in pairs right now, but I think that was not the best way to go for lots of reasons. I will be putting one amp per sub in the very near future and I bet I gain by doing so.

Singer Alternators!
That all sounds great, except for the 0.5ohm. 0.5ohm = people who can't afford to get the "power" they want at 1ohm. I guess it's one thing if your competing and rewiring for daily... Just my opinion, I'm sure a bunch of others will jump in here and say "I've wired my xxx down to 0.5ohm and haven't had any issues. blah blah blah. You just need a strong electrical. blah blah blah." I could see it for competition where you are in a power class that does not clamp your power for burps, but I agree it is just dumb to wire that low for daily especially when power is so cheap. OP: looking forward to your review on that alt.

NS-1
not quite - this was on 3 12v bats and 2 4v cells... starting voltage was around 16.2 with a drop to 13.xx ....we would have done better on if we had XS Power d1600's Fucking Sweet. Pretty efficient too if that all it dropped.

Soon to install new comps, any ideas?
I know you said you didnt want to, but I would try MB in the door and the mid and tweeter in the kicks. You wouldnt have to go really big on the kicks as the mid wouldnt need much airspace. That would be the easiest way to good results IMO.

Anyone familiar with Axiom for HT
Those look nice, but I already have the Infinity floor speakers that I cant use. Unfortunately this build is going to have to be wall mounted. Stands and floor are out. No room. lol Seriously thinking about building a set of the Zaph ZA5.3c MTM with ZA5.2 for the rear. Not a big investment as cost for the drivers and crossovers is low and They will fit in the area I have to work with and mount on the wall. Anyone here spent any time with this set up? I would think they are nice as Zaph does a great job cutting through the bullshit and telling it like it is, IMO. Here is a shitty cell phone picture showing what I am working with. You can see I do not have much room to work with. The sub is not staying there.

Subwoofer gives no reading on DMM
You can check you door speakers by sticking the MM probes into the wire jacket anywhere, at the amp, under a trim plate, etc. just find the wire and stick your probes in there. That should tell you if your DMM is working. If it is working and you get a reading on those, your tinsel are prolly burnt on your sub and it is reading an open circuit on your MM.
