  1. I've honestly had nothing but good experience with them and their customer service and products, but there seems to be so much negative talk about them
  2. looks great as usual!
  3. not to thread jack, but that matter horn is crazy shite!
  4. from what I see looking at the pictures of that coaxial, those are just 2 different size terminals for the same connection, so just pick whichever one is better for your wire size.
  5. well you can still use those subs, and use a DMM to gain down the amp, so you are only using the power you need, and that way the amp doesnt have to work as hard
  6. I am always excited to see pics of awesome subs! I cant wait till quentin gets to my box and I get my Icon!
  7. an absolutely amazing deal, and I'm glad i got on the list!
  8. thats good chit. maybe some day I would consider that drive, i'm trying to experience more things and try to live life more as I get older, lol
  9. I am currently taking advantage of the Audibel Customs free enclosure special and getting myself an SSA Icon 12". I am going to be going with a ported enclosure, and Quentin is currently working on my design. the first design he had was with the sub on an angle, firing towards the hatch, and port firing out the top. I had envisioned a upward firing sub and port, and a raised sub floor in the back to make it all flush. Now I realize that the box is just going to be so big regardless that the sub floor idea went out the window. I am only concerned with it hitting hard, going deep, and being able to keep up with my tastes in music. I drive a '05 Scion Xa, 160 amp alt, 0g big 3, power and ground, all knukonceptz wiring, Alpine PDX 100.4, Infinity reference 6.5 comps, 6.5 coax rear fill, and a memphis 16MCD-1000 sub amp. I listen to rap, metal, rock and Drum N Bass. I like the way the angled firing sub and upward port looked, and am just looking to see if anyone has experience with this, or my type of car, and does that sound like it would be a good setup? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  10. Like KU40 said, you can always gain down, using a DMM, to set the amp to the wattage you are looking to get for the sub.
  11. I have had good experience with Knukonceptz, i think that for the money they can't be beat
  12. That deal sounds either like it's stolen or someone really just doesn't know the value of what they have
  13. the point of higher pre-out voltage is so you get a stronger signal with less distortion, and theoretically you would need to turn the gain up less to achieve the full power of the amp
  14. I have been using an all digital Alpine PDX-4.100 to power my highs, it has a very small frame so it can fit in a lot of places, I got it on Ebay for about $290 shipped. It sounds really good and was birthed at 126 watts rms at 14.4v
  15. Looking Amazing, I cant wait to get my new sub and enclosure ordered!
  16. That's F'ing sweet man, very unique!
  17. This is the most amazing deal ever! I have seen some pics of your installs and all I can say is I am very much impressed! I will be trying everything possible to make enough money to buy an XCON 15" or Death Penalty 12" I have a Memphis 16MCD1000, which would you recommend?
  18. I have seen and heard nothing but amazing things about the Sundown amps, and it is always nice to have extra power at hand to upgrade later. You just have to know how to downset the gain using a DMM to the wattage you are looking to get!
  19. I apologize, one topic was about flash drives, and one was about usb hard drives, i wasnt able to find much info about them, my bad
  20. I have found a few different USB capable H/U lines that I like, and have been weighing my options since my ipod failed. I was thinking that I would use my flash drive and just go that route originally. I do not like the idea of only being able to access 16gb of my 56gb of music at one time. I am now wondering if there are any H/U that anyone knows of that can read the mp3's off of a portable usb HD, seagate free agent go? As always I appreciate the help and suggestions!
  21. Well I already asked around and found a few H/U's I like that have usb collections, such as Pioneer H/U and I am wondering if anyone knows if these would work with a seagate free agent type of portable hard drive loaded with mp3's and the like, because if so that would be amazing and way better then my flash drive!
  22. I was wondering if anyone Knows of an affordable H/U that would read the mp3's off of my seagate portable usb hard drive?
  23. A t-nut is a threaded backer that you screw a machine screw into, you can get them at home depot or lowes, or online. You line up where you want your sub, center and mark all the holes, then pre drill with a bit just a hair larger then the shaft of the T-nut. The T-nut has little pointed teeth that stick up so when you hammer them into your pre-drilled holes they stay in place, but some people do have problems with them slipping. T nuts Another option that I have seen people use is threaded inserts, and some people swear by them and say they are better then T-nuts. Threaded inserts Threaded inserts Threaded inserts
  24. I used to always go with pioneer, I tried a panasonic, cant say I was much impressed, and I would like to try an alpine eventually.
  25. thanks for the suggestions so far, I have found a bunch of them, I like that pioneer a lot. how does it go as far as sound quality?
