  1. Hey all, this topic has nothing to do with car audio, but my uncle needs your help! Although he didn't ask me to post this here, I don't have many email contacts, and this is a big competition. He is the owner of Diapers.com, and is in the running for 2 nominations which we need your help voting on. One is Best Buzz, the other "Most Likely to be worth $1billion" Click the link below to vote, it's very simple and much appreciated. http://www.businessinsider.com/vote-for-th...-of-2009-2009-5 Thanks everyone, Kevin (Who knows, maybe some of you dad's have ordered from his site lol)
  2. I would say a lot of determing factors come in here. I would run the 2 amp setup because it's going to be safer in terms of blowing the amp to hell. 3000 at .05 is alot

Ok, i stuck the meter up the Amp. It does get OHMS reading, but no A/C or DC reading, unless I am doing something wrong of course. I dont know if this matters but the blue light on my bass knob unit still lights up also. Is the amp blown? Can I fix it?

Ok guys, I've had a amp now for a few weeks pushing an 18" AA Chaos Sub. The Amp says its 4000 watts but I'm pretty sure it's only pushing about 1000 watts at 2OHMS. It's a no name amp i got from a friend brand new for free, so I figure why not. I've been slamming it hard, but all of a sudden it shut off on me. The name and model Audio Tek AT-4000 The Fuses are all still good, but for the hell of it I put 3x 40amp fuses in that were brand new. No sound still. I unplugged and reconnected all the cables, no sound still. I did a simple shut the car off and on , no sound. I check my Power Fuse Going to the battery, it's good , still no sound. There is a light on the actual amp, and as it always has is still lighting up green! Please help, what do you think might be wrong? Is it blown? Kevin P.S. - Do realize im just the average audio enthusiast so please don't be too harsh, yet I know my way around so any help offered i should be able to handle when it comes to getting my hands dirty.
  6. Im gonna say to bridge that Amp, in that +--+ setup You connect the + wire to the first + and the - to the 2nd - should work
  7. So of course I went last night, I have more pics coming, and I forgot my baby Nikon D300, so ya... all of these are from the phone.

  16. If i get the capital for a website, would you guys be interested in helping to construct a website with the wiring specs you describe?
  17. If there was one thing the internet could offer you car audio enthusiasts that it doesn't already , or think something could be greatly improved, what would that be? I'm talking store selections, information guides, specs for cars, anything. Kevin
  18. http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/4880/img00080v.jpg 2nd day after i finished installing. note: my music was off at the time, and we both were at fault. I made an illegal left turn and he made an illegal uturn, causing the crash. No tickets were issued. But hey, there's a $500 deductible.
  19. I'd like to light up the inside of my car with neons in certain area's. Can anyone recommend good neons?
  20. uughhh fine ill get them up first thing tomorrow. It's dark out and my cars a pit so lemme clean it up and ill get some up
  21. I plan on doing that, but not till i get component speakers of course. Right now I have to save some money, the amp , sub , and HU weren't really cheep as a student. Over time i will turn it into a beast, perhaps adding some more 18s.
  22. So i know its nothing compared to most of you, but it's not the average system at my highschool. I did almost all of it but build the box myself This is what I got, i will post pictures tomorrow. Alpine Digital Media Receiver 1x Ascendant Audio 18" Chaos 1x JL Audio Slash 1000/1v2 1 4 Gauge Run Stinger Next comes the component speakers and such, but it sure does slam in my durango. The headunit i just put in today, and it really makes a difference with my door speakers, as well as the control i have over the sub now. Can't believe i ever chose to keep the stock head unit in. kevin
