Amp for 2 xcons
I have a zapco 9.0xd, 2200@ 4 ohms and I have a saz3500, 3500@1 ohm. Which would be the better choice for a pair of xcon 12's for the best sq? Car is an Audi A6. I like the idea of running them at 4ohms and it would be easier om the electrical but is 1100 each enough?

From: Need a builder....
Price for 30x20x14.5 (WxDxH). Double front baffle and left panel is double as well. 6" aero out the left 17" long. And a 4" 45 in the right rear corner. It's a pwk for 2 12's.

Where are they? Just called one place. They want $350 for the enclosure and $1500 for 2 fiberglass 6.5" pods.

Need a builder....
I am looking for someone in the Portland area to build a box for me. I am very capable but don't have the tools at the moment. I have the design. It a pwk. For 2 12's with a 6" aero. I don't trust the dealers out here, plus they'd want too much $$$.

DD and sundown question
as for the electrical, I would have a 250a alt and at least 2 hc1800's. I'm just starting this project, and am still undecided whether or not to take the sub and amp out of my work truck. Thanks for y'alls advice.

DD and sundown question
Ok, I already have one 3512 dual 2 ohm and a single saz-1500d. just wondering if it would be ok to get another dual 2ohm 3512 and wire them down to .5 on a saz 3500, or to wire them at 2 ohm on 2 1500's? expanding in the future is a possibility too.

saz 1500d gain
When I got everything put in, I didn't have a DMM handy so I set everything by ear. Even with the bass and sub level all the way up I didn't hear any distortion. So for most of the time I kept them backed down some anyways leaving me some room to play with it. I finally got a chance to get a DMM on it and it was reading 60.8 where it was sitting, ie, bass -2 sub -2. Was just wondering how it was that I wasn't getting any distortion with the gain being so high and everything else low. Now it sits at 45 volts with the bass at +6/12 and the sub level +4/6. These are usually where I max out anyways. I might back it down some more when I rewire to 1 ohm. I'm trying to find an o-scope to just do It right and leave it alone. Usually I just go by ear and never have a problem. Its been years since I've blown a speaker. But never had more than about 750 going into them either. Btw, the 3512 is only a week old so I'm running it at 4 ohm for 2 weeks before I change it down to 1 ohm, like dd recommends.

saz 1500d gain
Ok, I cut it back some. About the best I get to was 45 volts. This thing is real touchy, I barely move it from there and it goes down to 35. So I figure 40 volts should be pretty close if I keep the volume one notch lower. Now, are you familiar with the 1500d? What exactly does the phase control do? I turn it but nothing really changes. And I must say WOW, I am very impressed with this amp so far. Even at 4 ohms my 3512 is slamming, almost afraid to go down to 1 ohm on it and see what it can really do. Thanks for your help, btw.

saz 1500d gain
I just got a saz 1500d and am trying to get the gain set just right. With nothing hooked to it and at 27/35 volume, bass -2, sub -2 and with the gain set 1/2, my DMM reads 60.8 volts. This seems way too high but it does sound pretty good on my dd 3512 wired to 4 ohms. Only thing though, 60 volts would be equal to 3600 watts at 1 ohm. Am I doing something wrong or is this the baddest 1500 watt amp in the world?

What about an Fi Q? Will they give me that feeling I'm looking for?

Ok, let's see if I can explain... I want it to get loud, not ear splitting loud but something you feel going through you. I was in a friends Sciracco a few years back, he had 2 Kicker 10's and a Phoenix Gold amp. It hit so hard that it hurt my chest. It was so f'ing tight, that's what I'm searching for. I'm not wanting something that every old person is gonna complain they can hear from miles away. I want quick response for the double bass drums from heavy metal, but at the same time I want to be able to get on it during some electronic bass, wanna be able to feel the lows. The pain in my chest is what I'm searching for. Power? Subs? I will know more about the DD's when I get the 3510 and the saz 1500d in my work truck as to whether or not they are what I'm searching for. But for my personal vehicle I can go bigger and badder to get to that feeling.

Actually, I think I'm going with a pair of DD 3512's run off a Diablo hf 2500.1. I just got my saz 1500d and ordered a 3510 for my work truck.

OK, I was looking at the RE XXX's (newer version), and the Fi BL's. I listen to mostly metal but I do like everything else too. They're going into a Tahoe, so size isn't an issue. I'd like to do 2 12's. I'm looking to get as loud as possible but not sound like total azzz. Powering them would be 2 saz-1500d's or 2 saz-2000d's depending on sub selection. I'm not stuck to those two brands, any input in any direction would be great. Price also isn't much of an issue. Willing to spend as much as $2000 for the subs.

BL ohms
It's going into a Peterbilt. An 18 wheeler, just in case you didn't know. And weight is an issue. I was considering 2 12's cause I do have the room, but if I did that, then I would be looking at a little over 300 lbs box and all. But in my personal vehicle, 2 15" btl's each run off a saz3000d.
-
BL ohms
yeah. I tend to do that when have too much time on my hands. BTW, in case you were wondering why I'm going so small, this is for my daily work vehicle....
-
BL ohms
ok, but even the dual 2 ohm are only 1.4 ohm each. In parallel that comes to .7 ohms

BL ohms
I am going to be ordering a 10" BL and was wondering which to get? Should I go with the dual 1 or 2 ohm? I plan on running it off the saz-1000d. If I get the 1 ohm, that would bring it down to .35 ohm, but with the rise, shouldn't that bring it back to almost 1 ohm? Just wondering as the amp reports that it is only 1 ohm stable. or would it be better to go with a Mmats 2100.2 and get the 1 ohm and wire them in series? this isn't something I need ASAP, but any ideas would greatly help the process. Or... another option is to go with the dual 1 ohm wired in series and go with the saz-2000d. Ideas?
