Is your volt meter accurate? Try calibrating it, make sure it's reading what your batt. is really at.

You dont really want the subs firing right above the end of the port, on the inside. Causes turbulence/cancellation stuff

That is taking into account you're making a false floor, which will be raised above the two bumps on the rear wheel wells that are most protruding. Hope that makes sense. It will when you go get a tape out there. If you dont make the false floor higher than those bumps then you'll have about 28" width. I've got a box that is 35/34/17ish in my rex. now. Just under/about 7 cubic feet after displacement. Did you ever think of 4 Dcons?

Went down to O'rilies today and got their only alt that would fit my car. I'm across state so i have no tools or anything so i cant even attempt to swap alts out on my own. Have to find a shop to do it tomorrow morning. Was really hoping to get this done yesterday, i have to go back home tomorrow. Dont want to miss class tuesday if i dont have to. Hopefully i can find someone to start on it ASAP in the AM, get it done before noon. 8 hours of driving after that.

Have you checked walmart or radio shack? should have something for ya' between those two stores.

I hope building a box isn't a waste of time. At least learn something from the build, even if you don't get it right. I would say the only negative of using them is the cost and not having the "brace" that slot ports have. But how hard is it to put in some dowel bracing where the box really needs it, which would help in either case?

I've done the same. On one of the bolts that holds a metal piece in place for the plastic console to screw into. (to the chassis metal, not the support metal.)

So you're saying no run of 0 gauge, from the battery to the amp should be longer than 5 ft? i dont see that happening in very many installs at all. Perhaps if we all drove mini-coopers or smart cars. Or if you add a battery in the rear then it breaks up the average run length and therefore the run is under 5ft tops to the amp? ^Not saying there is anything wrong with this, cause there isn't. but the idea that a power cable to an amp has to be under 5 feet is completely stupid. How do you manage to get power from your alt to your batteries and then to your amps in under 5ft? I have a CRX and i couldn't do it lol
