IAK needs an "IHOP"
Told chop I'd toss the update on for him. Seems him and the family are at the hospital with Samantha. Though its the third time in a short period, they've admitted her, so this could be THE time. Prayers for Samantha and all during this time!! I'm sure chop will be online to update as soon as he can.

Quote for 2.25cuft DCON enclosure
That would be just fine. No need to worry about the carpet then.

Quote for 2.25cuft DCON enclosure
I bought my sister a DCON for her birthday, and haven't had a chance to get around to building the enclosure for her. As we all know, it took me a year to get the Van done, I don't want her to wait any longer for the DCON. I have already designed the enclosure, just need a quote to get it built, finished in standard charcoal gray carpet. Dimensions, measurements and design are as follows. THANK YOU for the help here. Hopefully I can get this taken care of before her birthday rolls around AGAIN!!!

Hey I'm new and have some questions
Welcome to the Forum!! I would highly recommend looking into another amplifier than this one. Power Acoustik, Pyle, Boss Audio, Pyramid, Legacy, DHD, etc. etc. (the list goes on and on) are all VERY cheap built brands. Reliability is spotty at best and the performance leaves much to be desired on all fronts generally speaking. If you need a budget minded brand to recommend there's Powerbass and Hifonics, although you'd be surprised at the prices you can find Sundown amps at used or refurbished. There's so many good brands out there it's hard to recommend anything without leaving ALOT of reputable names out. A good general rule to remember and follow is the old addage, "You get what you pay for." If $150 for a 3,000 watt amp sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. Do some searches around the forum, many many people have started threads in the past asking what the best amp for this or that is. It's fairly easy to deduce the brands to consider by looking at the number of times the same names come up, over and over and over again.

Mounting amp on box
I had a guy come to me once to build a box for his Kicker Impulse subs and install his setup for him. He wanted the amp mounted on the FRONT of the box, out in front of the subs, made to look like it was just floating there. I did as he requested (and paid for), it looked kinda kewl and lasted almost 3 years before he decided to upgrade everything without ever giving any trouble. I would imagine, if there's a little padding or something between the amp and the wall of the box you'll probably never have a problem with it except for the occasional person to tell you how ghetto it looks, maybe.

component sound dull on high volume
Here's a link to a review on the 360, it will help explain what it is, what it does and how it works. 3sixty.2 test report Audison also makes one called the Bit one, and JL makes one too.

component sound dull on high volume
I believe you're running into the problems that exist with factory stereo's today period. Lots of the manufacturers will flatten the response to reduce distortion at high volumes and that's ONE of the many reasons the units like the 360, the MS8 and other sound processors exist. You'll need to replace the factory unit or aquire one of these kinds of processors in order to alleviate this problem I'm affraid. I vote for getting an aftermarket HU myself.

- LED's connected to Amp outputs?
altoncustomtech replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electricalcheese is right.. the circuits that do the light control are 12vdc powered and use the incoming signal to vary the brightness of the led's by varying the voltage... Also, by using several op amp circuits you can have multiple outputs which will vary their output with frequency and signal strength. There should be PLENTY of audio controlled light circuits available on the web which are actually quite easy to build. Hell, we built dozens of them in my High School Electronics class 15 years ago, I'm sure there's better chips and circuitry for that available now.- LED's connected to Amp outputs?
altoncustomtech replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalI second what lance said.. If you're wanting them to flash with the music, do a little search on the net. You'll need some extra circuitry to pull that off, but with some careful designing you can make it so that certain lights light up at certain frequencies so that when you play music it looks real neat with the effect the light is moving and dancing.- IS IT SAFE?
I think the best suggestion would be to get the HO alt AND a second 2000d and strap the amps at 2 ohms. Your voltage will be more stable and you'll be giving some seriously good and potentially cleaner power to the subs. Just my .02- Goldwood Speakers
Goldwood speakers are a fairly generic brand. I've used them to repair/replace some drivers in house speakers for myself and a few friends and they do a pretty decent job. I'm not sure how much abuse they can take, and they're not the best at accurate music reproduction but they're not half bad either. If I was going to look into building a set for my vehicle, I'd look into a different brand though. Madisound has a brand named Silver Flute which has peaked my interest, especially after SMGREEN20 has said they're comparable to the Hybrid Audio L6 mids which says alot to me about the quality of their musical reproduction and they're priced very similarly to the Goldwood stuff at the Madisound store.- Vincennes University's Annual Car Show and Cruise In
Dude you have no idea, the Impala in the first pic posted just shy of 1,000hp on the wheel dyno and the big green 4x4 in the 5th pic broke the tires loose on the drums and posed up 597hp!!! Yeah there's alot of chevys there but there was plenty of mustangs, some chargers, a coupe of fury's a few old coupes and all kinds of stuff to round out the pack. The show was great, I'm looking forward to maybe entering the Jimmy next year and watching everyone flip out on the 8's.- Vincennes University's Annual Car Show and Cruise In
Thanks man, it was a blast.... Here's just a touch of everything that was there. I'll have a DVD of the entire show in a few days, I'll post more pics and some vids then. This was one of only two cars there with systems. The competition would have been mine.... If there was one, lol.- Box for 18 btl in four door blazer anyone have any ideas
Where in Indiana do ye hail from? I'd be glad to help out however I can there fellow Hoosier. I'd agree with Tej as well, 6.5cuft net tuned to 32hz sub firing up, port firing back should be nice and mean. Getting below the window line will be a pain if you're planning on competing, but it may be feasible. Also, what electrical upgrades do you have done or planned. Supporting 2k+ is going to take some juice as it takes power to make power. Don't forget that's 6.5cuft NET, which means there has to be sub, port and bracing displacements added to that figure.- Vincennes University's Annual Car Show and Cruise In
Bumpity for the show is on TOMORROW!!! I'm looking forward to hanging out with whoever can show up, while it may be a little chilly, it should be quite a bit of fun!- Best port placement for a center console
That's nothin, seen a guy at the local college here with an S-10 with inverted 15's done in a crazy looking fiberglass enclosure. He'd drive around using a motor for an arm rest. I'm with you on that. The box I'm working on right now is a down firing box. I would try port down myself if the configuration will allow for it, or port back if it won't. I don't see the port firing up that low and in front of you allowing good interaction between the port and front wave of the subs, but then what do I really know. - LED's connected to Amp outputs?
