  1. is that smart powering a saz1000 off of 8awg wire... well actually it should be b/c 8awg at 2ohm can support... like 1080 at 14.4 volts! so he will be boarder line and 900rms at 12volts..
  2. wait wait question you have 4awg going from the battery to the terminal then 2-runs of 8awg going to the amps? b/c 8awg can support 75amps of current.... so don't put a 100 amp fuse in the sundown run but put like a 50-70amp fuse in there to protect the wire...why are we using 8awg again? or are you going 1/0 to distro then 2-4awg out? and btw the saz1000 has 75amps of fusing on the amp! http://sundownaudio.com/index.php/products/amplifiers/saz-1000d.html
  3. 250$ for a 100.4! SAX-100.4B Refurbished Old Heatsink Design [sAX-100.4B-R] - $250.00 : dB-r Electronics, Online Store
  4. you lost me! lol! so let me draw a pic and see if this make sense to you or if i mis understood you
  5. will you be losing power if you use a reducer? no! the reason for a reducer is to fit bigger wire (with a higher current rating) into a smaller hole!!
  6. you say will share a 4awg cable? what do you mean by this? have 2-runs of 4awg going to each amp or one run of 1/0 going to a distro block iwth 2-4awg outs?
  7. many ppl like to do what you wnat to do with the 100.4 due to the extra power the 100.4 outputs! keep in mind the 50.4 is no light weight what you wnat to do can be done and in my opion should out shine the eD nine.4 i have heard a direct comparison so this is how I knwo. but then agian my ears also jacked and sq isn't what i am gunning for any more lol! more spl now. at any rate welcome to the world of sundown audio you will love there products and awesome customer supportt!and also you get the ability to speaker (emial or post) directly to the owner of sundown who actually knows a whole lot about his product since he designs it i beleive! the 50.4 is a great little amp and with space requirement in mind they amp will do the trick! the 100.4 just can do it better due to being able to have doulbe the output! i also believe the 50.4 is discontinued now to be replaced with another amp with less feature due to what the customres what. i guess at 50rms ppl don't wnat or need all the bells in whislte the 100.4 offers lol. also in the works is a dumbed down 100.4..seach the threads in the sundown section and see if you can find it!
  8. and when he says a little he means not a whole lot! (noticable amount)
  9. umm you can expect what it is rated for... Rated power output ----RMS power, 4 ohm stereo 50W x 4CH ----RMS power, 2 ohm stereo 80W x 4CH ----RMS power, 4 ohm bridged 160W x 2CH Sundown Audio - SAX-50.4 your setup options for comps are either passive or active...but you stated you want to run active? you seem to know that the amp is very flexible and versile... so i ask what do you really wnat to know?
  10. to get an nsb in the states you have to call them directly!! that is how i got a hold of mine! i called nsb directly asked for a dealer located near me and bam i picked them upi the following week! i called the guy place of business and away i went lol! 11. well 14 gauge can support 32amps of current and at 1ohm that is about 1024watts and 10 gauge can support 55amps of current and at 1ohm that is about 3025watts but that amp is a 2ohm amp so the new numbers are lol 14gauge at 32amps and 2ohm = 2048 10gauge at 55amps and 2ohm = 6050 reference formula ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I^2XR= Power (current squared times resistance = power)
  12. that would be sexy!!!
  13. comp is what i would call that car! lol
  14. lol keep in mind this is a crx after all with a prototype sub in there lol!
  15. I have used the HC2400 (2) the batcap 2000(2) and a buddy of mine uses the odyssey 2150 (2) if you pick batcap 2000's keep in mind these are burping batteries as thier reserve is very small. when i had my 2-batcap 2000's and a h/o i had no issue supporting a 2krms setup for daily use but keep in mind these are intended for burping. the hc2400-2 i didn't care for them b/c they were old and didn't hold a charge very well.. the odyssey 2150's in my buddies truck supporting his 4krms setup are amazing! but expensive on this site the d3400 are all the rage and everyone loves them currently right now i use a pair of NSB90's and they are tanks and only cost 260CAD each and i like how they proform and hold the voltage even doing a burp they work well!! when comparing AH almost compare the size and lb of the batteries the batcap's are like 7x7x7 and like 30lb's on the other hand the hc2400 are like doulbe the size and like 70lb's lol. to give you an answer i would either pick the batcaps for size and wieght (they held up fine for my 2krms setup) or odyssey for reliability and proformance (based off of the 2150's and what is seen) i am not a fan of the kinetik b/c i had a bad experience with them! as for XS i don't have any experience with them jsut what ppl tell me! also for dialy AH isn't as important as cca b/c you have your alt to back it up and keep in mind to support that amp you might need around 100-120ah depending on the fusing. so enjoy your car audio and if you are in it for the fun don't kill your bank!! lol!
  16. o wow that wire looks awesome and sexy!! and it is funny b/c it almsot looks like knu stuff when they had there flat wire lol thanks for the link!! and nice work Jacob!
  17. lmao i had the same issue with my pioneer h/u lmoa! it would murder my disk to the point where i couldnt' listen to them and when the bass hit hard it skipped!!! lmoa!! i though it was my h/u not the brand lmoa!! but ya i jsut purchase a bnib jvc h/u (avx77)and guess what doulbe the power and no skipping or scratching at all!! and i now use duel layer dvd mp3 disks! (8.2gigs of music)

  19. i pick sundown all day for a few reasons! best custom service i have ever seen! the owner talks directly to you! you deal with a real person everythign is under rated and sundown is amazing bang for your buck! plus i have never blown one hell they used to be warrenty at 0.5ohm but to many dumb ppl without the electrical to back them keep blowing them so that got canned lol! and they look sexy! those are my reason why i always choose and recommend sundown!

  22. hell the big 3 make a difference with no car audio! it helps your car to start up on those cold winter days! you know how much your car needs current wise to start engine? do you know how much startup current is required? do you know why batteries have a short circuit rating of 5000 amps? lol! when it comes to beefing it all up it ALL helps!
  23. lol if you are looking on ebay it says 1ohm BUT it should READ 2ohm!! trust me a type-o that nobody has ever taken the time to correct b/c they are lazy ppl. now with this in mind it is 2ohm at 3krms! enjoy! it is bassicaly 2-1500ap amps (which are 1ohm stable) put into 1 bigger heat sink!
