  1. Because you are pushing it all the way out...it is not meant to be pushed all the way out. If you use the gasket to center everything it puts it into proper alignment..never an issue. It is the same tooling...exactly the same. It has not changed. Same part number..same tooling dye..same compound. Built thousands of subs with that exact same surround profile...it is not the surround, it is not the basket, it is not the tooling as they are all the same. Can I purchase a new gasket from you guys? This could be, and probably is my issue, makes sense. None of the video tut's or txt/pic tuts explained putting the gasket on to align the edge of the surround during a recone.
  2. I am only online @ work and I don't carry my car audio equipment around with me to work. I will have pictures of everything up tommorow, currently reconed sub, the new recone kit, and the old guts I ripped out to compare the surround roll differance. Patients
  3. the upgrade from hifonics -> sundown made a huge differance right there, shoulda seen what the four type-r's would do on that saz. but nice setup either way!
  4. My recone job is solid, the surround IS wider then the sub orignally was (I still have the old guts I ripped out from the basket and compared) so you can keep saying it's not and keep saying it's 100% correct to my basket, but it isn't. There is no room from the mounting holes to where the roll on the surround begins for any kind of screw to mount the subwoofer to an enclosure without cutting into that beginning of the roll. Call me a liar and keep saying I'm to blame, pictures will do justice.
  5. Nick i'll have pics to show the blame is not in my reconing job. Please stop trying to put blame in other places and accept it. Proof is coming. Thank you for the second recone kit, it's more then I could of ever asked for, but unfortunetly it is also too wide on the surround. I will have to make my own mounting holes in the basket when I recone it the second time due to the bump in the surround is wider then what was meant to be mounted to this basket. On the + side of things I did recieve a bumped Fi dustcap! Which looks sexxy as hell might I add!
  6. lol, my womens kdhdr1 has a 7band. i wouldn't really suggest a low-end jvc to anyone
  7. I tried to pm Nick but it won't allow me to because you have it disabled or it says the group you're apart of doesn't allow pming.. "I just wanna clear the air, I was under the impression the kits were preassembled from our e-mail conversastions, no you never said they were, but it's what I gatherd from our convos. So sorry about the impatients, and it just scared me a bit that before purchase you and scott were speedy with replies through email, after payment I recieved 0 replies, so hopefully you can see where I was coming from. I now understand how busy you guys have been lately, working on new models, orders coming in left n right, i apologize for me jumping the gun. Now onto the recone kit itself, the box was not tamperd with when i recieved it, opend it, and the scratch was there, out of box. shit happens man, i wasn't pissed off, just lettin it be known. there is one other issue with the kit, i wasn't gonna bring it up in the thread because it was a little more serious imo. the surround, doesn't fit right on my basket, where hte mounting holes are thehead of the screws are actyually cutting intothe outer surround a bit, and my gasket would not fit anymore because this kits surround is wider(same reason the screws cut into it)... but yah i had to cut the whole top half of my gasket to be able to use it.."
  8. if your subs aint bigger then yo rims you aint bangin. lol
  9. how did it discolor your cone, pics?
  10. lol, sounds like your deck has been possessed by a demonic force. i'd suggest making 1 common ground for your deck+amps but it's not clear to me if this is a grounding issue or not..
  11. he never implied it was ca glue, i was the only one talking about ca glue and posting a link to it. so you can see how i thought you got us confused eh?
  12. personally i wouldn't associate any vehicle of mine or a friends with boss product. understandably you're on a budget as are most people these days, just save a lil bit from the next couple checks and evenly match your subwoofer in quality at the least. there's plenty of DAMN good sales going on here and other car audio forums. look around, do some research, ask more questions, and save a couple bucks before setting your mind on a low budget amplifier.
  13. shhhh i was gonna be waiting at his house for the drop off... first thing that i thought was did he really just post his personal info
  14. This one? http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/sales-...nderground.html yup, 18 pages of warnings lol That should tell you what you need to know. I just read the first page of the diy robot underground thread, it seems like the guys a dick head, but for the MOST part he's legit to deal with. I'd never deal with them, if there's any doubt on a sale imo, don't go through with it.
  15. I check in there on a steady basis, but there are just too many people talking out of their rump in too many topics it seems. caf's alot like highschool imo lol.
  16. you know what i noticed about this.. it says rubber adheasive.. no were does it say CA , and there is no activator for it .. i dunno if it would do the job.. maybe for surrounds and dust caps.. you're qouting the wrong person i posted a link to the ic-2000 rubberized ca glue i used. i think you got us mixed up

  18. you kids are cute ;p
  19. lol can we lock this topic? this is sad.
  20. I suggest you jump off your high horse there kiddo. Stop freaking out, use your inhaler, and breathe. Pay some respect, theabunai has knowledge of BOTH woofers, his opinion is unbiased where yours is completely irrelevant. high horse? freaking out? i think you should re-read my post buddy btw, nice attempt at sucking some ass.
  21. x2 it's never bad to have headroom for more power...
  22. blah blah blah, sq wise the type-x will take the cake period. btw you have no idea my knowledge of installation / tuning systems... so try again.
  23. i used to work @ bb as an installer and did plenty of RF/Alpine installs, alpine all the way when it comes to subs. rather have a type-e over a p1, type-s over p2, and type-r over p3 anyday.
  24. i used it for an RE XXX 12, it hasn't had ANY problems so far, but im only pushing it with 275watts atm. waiting for funds to get a real amp to push it, and beef my womens electrical. i played around with it before i reconed and it seems like some legit glue. something about hazardous materials prevented me from buying glue w/ the recone kit because it cannot be shipped legally.
