I've done it to a BL 15 on 2x rated power right before world finals. User error. The plastic part on the speaker posts on mine melted and shorted to the basket and then the spiders went poof. Live, learn, and recone.

Yes i mean acoustically. I paid $73 bucks a sheet for baltic. It is not as forgiving to work with as MDF either. But it is way lighter which is what I needed going from 1 x 15 to 2 x15s with extra amp and batteries. I'm also using spun metal flares on 10" aeros which seem to add a bit more noise than just having the PVC flared themselves. Both have pros and cons.

I've always used MDF until this last build and used 1" birch. I reinforced with 3/4" all thread rod. I like the sound of MDF better. Also, I recommend EZ-Loc threaded inserts. Place them on the underneath side of the wood and use machine screws with socket heads and I've never had another problem. Which is good because I use aeroports and always changing out to tweak the tuning.

Manufacturing has to be lean and processes in order for any manufacturing business to run. They do the things they do for a reason. Customer support is by far #1 here and well worth the wait for a quality product.

I ordered another BTL on 12/7 and it shipped earlier this week.

I ordered the 35W from DDM almost a year ago. I had them in a little over a week and I have had zero problems out of them.

I have two layers throughout the whole vehicle of sound deadening. What kind of power and speakers do you recommend then?

So would it be easier to get a different amp? I just want a good quality sound but without all the work put into tweaking on the crossovers all the time.

Don't know yet. Maybe a DSP processor. What do you recommend?

Looking for a good quality 4 channel amp for my first active setup.

I currently have a passive front component set of Focal's on a Linear Power 1502 with TIPS mods. I'm looking at going active and louder up front. I currently have a BTL N2 15 and another on the way. I can start to drown out the fronts now so adding another sub will definitely drown them out. I have not set my mind up on what tweeters and mids to use. I have door pods already for 6.5 mids and tweeters. I have a small SUV...Mercury Mariner so adding more front speakers is not an option. This is a daily driver and I will rewire the fronts with larger wire when I redo and go active. I'm looking into the Zed amp 100x4 and wondering if anyone has any experience with it. If anyone has any other suggestions for amps or speakers let me know as well.

I had a sub do that exact same thing a little over a year ago.

I have it in my SUV. I used two bulk packs. It reduced the rattles very well. Super sticky and applied very easy.

You won't be disappointed with the N2! I love mine and still amazes me how loud it gets over my BL.

I would come to your area. It would be nice to get some in NC. The only reason I was state record holder last year is I was the only one in SPL from NC in MECA. I set the NC state record at Elite Summer Nationals last year in SC.

I go to Greenville, SC to the ones there. MECA...There isn't anything else around WNC. There was a couple in East Tennessee. I haven't competed this year so I haven't kept up with it much. Will be back next year.

I just received my N2 yesterday. It is an engineering piece of art. I'd like to say that the quality is superb and the wait and cost are well worth it for a product such as this. We should all try and keep more money in the US economy. Thanks Nick for great products and excellent customer service. You couldn't ask for better of either.
