Very specific sub request... LOUD SQ WALL <$900 (shipped)?
"Oh, and don't mind the mixing of the subs. That's my problem. " ^ uh, how am I suppose to read this? it almost sounds like >don't worry about that part...... i seen the smiley, just thrown off on the comments potential of being a little ..............well, cocky?. it is very possible to have a properly tuned sub stage that can span this frequency range and also be kept at easy listening levels until the big boom is needed. mixing of multiple sub sizes is not too common, i think Denim was just intending to address that, your topic title was "Replying to Very specific sub request... LOUD SQ WALL <$900 (shipped)?" ................. I believe you will come across quite a few folks who feel they could do a better job of acheiving these goals with equipment other than the subs you linked to(cerwin's). those xxx are quite the subs, perhaps after reading through some of the specs on the subs featured within the manufactures on this forum, you might find some of these choices might deliver what you are looking for, as well as save you a few bucks. chop

Chainsaw's Camry(a work in progress)
i like it...... how long will you guess it will be before the new amp and sub? after you get that front stage put together, you will be wanting them lows bad!!! i wonder if you threw together a little bit more effecient enclosure together, if that might help the lows a little more, and give you a little build practice. looking good, keep it up, chop < me saving $700 bucks in the next year even, lmao...........that is a good habit to get into.

there it is, we all been there in some way, happy with the basics, having fun! <audiobauhn user lol it is my hopes to increase each of our members installs by late spring, that gives us 6 months.....steve has plenty of time to take a few steps and really gain a appreciation for better made equipment and properly installed componets. i bet if he builds this new box for a while and then steps up to the FI, all withinthese next few months, he will definetly be a walking testimony to what SSA's forums have to offer. I liked my BXI2006D's very much......... pushed a pair of SPLW15"s with them.....really wish i would of held on to that a little longer. Chop

12" xcon or fi q
> old black lady at hair salon> " boy, you ain't neva' lied!"^^^ he he yeah if you are into the same rap that i am, you will miss some of those,' popular to the style', notes..........1.2 cubes w/unknown power does not feel like it will deliver what you are looking for. perhaps if you are a handy man, read up on designing a enclosure a little more suited for your needs, these guys will get you hooked up right. I am guessing that one sheet of mdf and some build materials will set you back $40 bucks, + or - a few bucks, add that to your new sub purchase and the thought of designing and building your own enclosure, priceless! that ol' shizzzon, he would probably step up to the challenge! just my .02 bro, Chop

12" xcon or fi q
I promised myself that I would never point this out but, perhaps I will only mention, that a little game of hide and seek would in fact stir up that exact "acronym" in some of our manufactures pages, from them! lol ron82nd, i am personally, completly out of loud SQ conversations, but if you find a fellar that goes by ///M5 on here, now he will plumb you right up on which way to go. If I had to guess, I would ventur to say in a convertable, a really mean front stage would be your path to happiness, certainly considering SQ is at hand. Just curious, any pics of a Miata's door panels, kick panels, trunk? Hell I am even willing to go out on a limb here and say that he has told alot of people where to go on here, lmao, jk five. Chop

audiobahn aw120q
yeah it is the 120.....AW120Q.............. it is the excursion series, it does not hold it's own at all when being put up to a xcon, really no comparison on how much of a differance there is, those xcon's can sing! the Q is a well built sub, I have only heard one in a less the perfect set-up and would like to think it had more potential. your right, the Audiobauhns in a trunk with that 1500 on them is loud for a cheap install...... some folks are very quick to have a opportunity to talk crap about a certain product, i personally do not like thier brand, but i have seen some pretty dam slick installs from them. the box he has is too small and the port is tuned way, way too low.... he is part of IAK so we want to get him a little bit better of a install, probably have mdizzle hit him up with a new box for now, and we have our eyes on a 18" FI BL , needs to be reconed but would be a sweet upgrade for the cash. thanks for the input, chop

Death Row 18 4 inch or 3 inch slot port?
hey DB-R , we are playing with these too, it seems that alot of folks say they vary, also the end condition thingy weighs in on the math( wether you are shareing a enlosure wall with the port) the eqaution i copied down to find LV sems to be agreed on quite a bit, so i use the pencil paper and calculator method...... you are on the right track, well the same one i was on, perhaps the actual equation would be better for you also.
