  1. Too many variables to know for certain. If those pieces are what your prepared to begin with, then go for it. Hook up and try it out. Watch your volts or system performance and if you need more power then plan accordingly. A big factor will be to see what your current alt is capable of. My vote is that you should be okay.
  2. Fresh pineapple with almost any breakfast items. Yes, I have used ribeye for this, very good. I have always enjoyed a breakfast wrap/burrito I guess you could say. Egg, cheese, salsa, ribeye shreds or pan fried J.D. sausage, all wrapped in a flour tortilla. Substitute salsa for any strawberry/ grape jelly or even yogurt. Also, a German friend of mine who lives in the north loves a Hollandaise(sp) sauce breakfast. Toasted english muffin halves with sliced ham, a poached egg per english muffin half, topped with the Hollandaise sauce leaves a thick, filling treat on a plate. Not all Hollandaise sauces are created equal however, some packs say to add water when quality ones require milk, I guess you could always substitute a water requirement for milk. Find Hollandaise in your local grocery near the spices maybe. Its in a little pouch like an old school Kool-Aid powder.
  3. Oh okay. That makes more sense.
  4. Looks like a nice meter. If I follow your posts correctly, it almost looks like it took a month from when you ordered it for it to arrive. . . was it really that long?
  5. Very true. Sounds like many of you enjoy your Fluke. Thank you all for the replies.
  6. I value all the responses so far guys. Thank you.
  7. I will be needing it to set gains more scientifically than by ear, without using an o-scope, as well as measuring resistance, voltage, and attempting to measure current. That may help explain my intentions. I saw a $70 Mastech and a $700 Fluke. I would hate to pay for a Fluke as well.
  8. ...and what do you like or dislike about it? I am in the market for a DMM. I read here about true rms DMMs after someone mentioned to be aware of this feature. Is this necessary for setting up gains when a constant frequency is used to get a voltage measurement? Also, how accurate or unnecessary would a clamp meter prove to be? At the moment, I feel I am shopping for a clamp meter with true rms feature. I appreciate your thoughts.
  9. Sorry man, I dont really know what your saying. I was posting in the newb section cause I thought it was a bit of an elementary problem I had. Didn't really relate to anything audio and I read where some members seemed to be alittle ticked with new members because they might not have used the search tool before posting. I thought I would post here as a starting line. I think it's a good idea to use the search, but I don't think its the end all when I cannot see it performing more than 1 word searches very accurately. Thats why I asked if someone could explain to me how to manipulate the search criteria appropriately.
  10. Good examples, thanks.
  11. Yeah. Hopefully I wont end up needing this formula. I'll just see how things go with 1 port per chamber. I hope my math works out.
  12. Awesome designs and nice work so far. mmm. wish i had the tools to do some wicked woodwork.
  13. The only thing i know about multiples is from the psp website tool, you can put in the number of ports you plan to use. I am not completely sure about what your asking about. But I suppose you would just add the area of each port together, if they are in the same chamber, to get your total port area for that chamber.
  14. Great, thank you for that formula, I had not seen it. What kind of setup are you running? Im curious to know when you say you love the way it sounds.
  15. anybody have thoughts about the ports?
  16. I am sure you will really enjoy the experience of making your own box. Take it slow and plan things out a bit before jumping right in cutting up wood and such. It would be necessary for you to measure your trunk and give us an idea of what sort of room your working with.
  17. I appreciate the thoughts so far. Seems I will be alot safer off to stick to 4ft3 and call it day. I would like to see the subs last longer than recklessly installing them in a coffin from day 1. Some rough estimates with aeros . . . 4ft3 tuned 30/31hz using one 4" aero needs to be ~7" long. This would give me [3.14(22)7] about 88in2 of port per sub. Give or take a bit for the flares, but I am not sure how to calculate that portion. But, this 88in2 > 6-12in2 per ft3, is this correct? Mathematically, this may be enough port area, but thinking about a 4" port that is 7" long is not enough.
  18. I'm preparing a box that will hopefully be home to 2 15" Xcons that will be powered by a saz-3500. My goal is not to get the best spl numbers. I do listen to a lot of rap yet at the same time I enjoy some Lenka, Utada Hikaru, or miss Swift to give some examples. I think I would like to tune around 30 or 31hz. So far, I was planning separate chambers and double baffle. This will be going in a smaller SUV, probably subs up, ports back. I am doing all my calculations and sketches w/ pencil and paper, so I may be off alittle due to rounding or way off due to poor math skills. Max available space is 26L*37W*24H, after divider and sub dis I am thinking the box is 10.3ft^3. I feel my first decision is to figure out if this 5.15ft^3 is too large when website says 4ft^3 is opt. I feel the slightly larger box will help with low end output, but I do not know if it will be too much for the subs since I am already matching their rms capabilities with the amp. Your thoughts? Next, I would like to use aero ports. I have spent some time trying to decide 4" or 6" but have not committed to either yet, mainly because I am trying to calculate too many scenarios by not knowing my box size goal. I seem to have picked up aeros require less port area than slots. Yay. But, I have read that range is anywhere from 6-12"/ft^3. Too me, that is a big range and I would like to hear more specifically what a good allowance would be for the aeros in my circumstance? I value any input with my 2 road blocks, thanks guys.
  19. I agree. I had a Viper alarm professionally installed that worked flawless for me. Also had a Crime Guard not so professionally installed in a separate vehicle that I was not happy with. I believe the CG would have been great if I had taken the time to find a more professional installer.
  20. Haha. This is too funny. You guys are missing my inquiry. "big tree" Was just an example. It doesn't matter what I would search for. The point is I am trying to search for posts or threads that contain 2 or 3 specific words. If I enter a phrase in to the search box, I will get a hit on just 1 word. I would like to tell the search tool to include several words. I seem to remember some search engines accept the use of +, AND, or " " to force the search tool to include all words.
  21. I am not searching for Big 3.

I am a bit lost with the SEARCH tool here. There are tips and tricks that I feel I am missing because my searches return incorrect matches. ie. big + tree or big AND tree or "big tree" I don't find relevant matches for 2 or 3 word searches.
  23. I miss my 97 Accord
  24. were you ever able to compare them? good to keep in mind, thanks
