Or to answer your question generically, the easiest way to not overcook them is to use really high heat and not a lot of time.

The first way you should do them is in a hot pan. I like to do mine in bacon fat and a little butter. If you don't have bacon fat then olive oil is fine. 2-3tbsp of each in your pan (butter & oo) Put a pan on medium high/high add the fats and get it hot. When the butter smokes you know you are ready. Place the scallops in the pan and leave them completey uncrowded and still for 90 seconds. Flip (I usually try for a different spot in the pan so they get another hot spot) and leave for another 90 seconds. 3 minutes is enough! You want the center to be medium rare to rare, but the outside nice and browned. *Note, pretty much everything you cook should get a nice healthy pinch of kosher salt, so I left it off the description but do use it. In this case pat the scallops dry first as you don't want any extra moisture to make them stick other than what the salt brings out of the meat. **Note 2, don't use a teflon or non-stick pan. You want these to brown and therefore you want to use a stainless bottom or at least some type of normal pan. This is a generic rule for all meats, 99% of the time they need to have some adhesion for good browning. Also the reason to NOT touch them for 90 seconds as you want them to stick. The release from the pan before they are ready to flip...all meat does

Time to change it up. If you were throwing a small bait, change to a bit one. If you were throwing a slow bait, change to a fast one. " " " bright, " " dull. " " " natural, " " fake. " " " light weights, " " heavy. " " " baits deep, " " shallow. etc... Once something happens, figure out what it was you did different and then try other variations of it.

Welcome to the IHoP
There were 5 boats on Tonka yesterday and the ice is only off the shallow bays and the first 10' or so of shore on the main lake. The springs cut channels through it and some idiot was on plane haulin' balls down the channel If my boat weren't in storage I would have gone out this weekend as well. Gorgeous weather and I know where the crappies are right now and I can get to 'em.

How to tell what voice coil ohm?
You can measure the resistance which will be close to the impedance with a multi-meter, but regularly it will be labelled on the driver as well.

You need to buy a $10 french press from TJ Maxx. Wouldn't the grind be even more important in that though? Flavor, I drink very dark coffee with nothing in it. Still have yet to find coffee from a chain coffee shop that I really like though. You need to adjust the grind sure, but the reason for the French press is that it is much more efficient at getting the oils out of the beans which is the darkness and mouth feel you like. Drip machines are sort of lame, in general not a good idea.

Box to maximize ouput for 2 Fi Qs
Thanks. Thats what I was thinking. And you lose power handling capability at the same time. ie don't take it too far.

Box to maximize ouput for 2 Fi Qs
Note, I'd actually wager that a BTL would have more than enough of a smooth response that 85% of the people who ask BL or Q would really be happiest with the BTL and are looking for its output. I can simplify it. If you want your bass loud, you do not want a sound quality driver. If you sat in my truck you'd wonder if I had subs and surely couldn't tell where it was located. It sounds 100% like all my music is coming from the front of my truck including the bass. Hell, I'd take it a step further. If you have a newish car and listen to your stock stereo and turn the bass knob up, you aren't an SQ buyer. Nearly all new cars have a huge bias on the bass to sound big and IMO it sounds like shit. Here is one other clue. The gain on my sub amp is basically off. I have a 1000w amp sure, but I severely doubt that it ever actually plays more than 200w and that is when I am listening to music that I don't listen to. Sounds friggin' great though. Don't underestimate your desire to get loud and your goals...

Drip with a real grinder >> french press with a shitty grinder. Just like for audio being all in the install, the coffee is all in the grinder. Has to be ground within an hour at most of when you want to use it too. I always laugh when I go into my local coffee roaster and get a batch of beans that was just roasted today and they ask me if I want it ground. My usual answer is, "no thanks, that defeats the purpose"...so yes, I am an ass in real life too.
