  3. Ha, my first pc was an Ohio Scientific C1P followed a while later by an Apple II. My longest running most stable pc has been overclocked and running non-stop for 3 years.
  4. 2 Icon's in a 8cuft box need more than a single 5" port, way more, you can't use any of those designs.
  5. I love the small box, small mounting depth though.

  11. que? Did you wire both the + to the amp on the + side and the - to the -?
  12. I think you misunderstood my "rides like a truck" to mean rough, not at all what I was saying. Driver feedback, road feel, balance & response is how the Corvette reminds me of a truck. Adding some of the bone jarring lack of suspension to do what you need it to and it would also be rought, but like a truck without feeling the benefit. I feel disengaged driving a corvette compared to many other true drivers cars. I won't argue their prowess or capability, just in how they go about doing it...just doesn't work for me.
  13. personally I hate the hifonics

  16. Get off your ass and spend the 30min in your car. Jeez.
  17. a profile from them was my very first amp. I ran it with an infinity perfect DVQ. it was great. sucker never got hot. One good experience and your amp not getting hot does not make them good amps. Out of all people I am surprised you feel that way, pull the cover and have a look for yourself and then you won't recommend them anymore. For the same dough used is WAY better. As for your comment on SQ and class D amps SQIB guy, it is a crock. Class D amps are fine on fronts as well as subs, your ears in particular in a car are not going to be able to tell the difference. Note I am not saying that they won't have an acoustic signature, but you can easily shape the response to sound as good as necessary and identical to your favorite non class-d.
  18. Considering you don't really need to measure accurately hardly ever, I'd just get a cheap one at a pc store or similar. The inaccuracy comment about resistance is a bit of a joke, they all use the same technique to measure it overall inaccuracy is not, but you don't need it just relative accuracy which even the cheapest piece of junk will do just fine.
  19. Are they wired in or out of phase with each other?
  20. It should be just fine, it may be wimpy for its size (or not oversized like ca stuff) but it will do what you need it to.

Not buying way UNDER msrp is asinine, hell I think it is dumb to buy a new car and pay over invoice and usually would ask for some of the hold-back as well. As for your gas savings. 300mi a/wk = 15600mi a /yr at 15mpg you use 1040 gallons of gas, at 23mpg you use 678 gallons, net savings of 362 gallons. @$3gal = $1086, and @$4 = $1448 A realistic loan (4yr only as more than 4 gets you in financial trouble and serious upside issues) on $32k is $800 (not including tax and any extra's). So your saving is best case scenario a whopping two months of your payment. It won't save you shit to change cars, when you look at the extra maintenance/wear and tear on a car like the camaro or mustang you will be spending more and not less. Don't forget the more expensive insurance as well Not saying you shouldn't buy one, just want to make sure you realize the minimal ramifications. Personally out of those two choices I negotiate hard on the stang and ignore the fact completely that a camaro might exist. Paying over msrp is peeing money, if you want one wait two years at least.

    off to Turkey day 2.
  24. Lots of potential causes, but I can't say at all that I am surprised. I am far from excited about Hifonics build quality in any realm, they cut way too many corners and are far to budget oriented.
