Welcome to the IHoP
Hey, I love I-6's!! How about a S/C 283?? You could make that car rip with one of those, but if you have the 6 to begin with you will need brakes and they all need suspension. Luckily both can be done fairly cheap.

Welcome to the IHoP
So how is this for extreme. Yesterday I was up on Red Lake in Northern MN where the thermometer registered a comfortable -24 deg F, today I am in Santa Ana, CA where it was 82 deg F. 106 degrees of difference in 24 hours.

Sweet. Now you just need a big IB install and a Rat motor.

Well I think that I am taking "top post" wrong, but West Marine carries converters to change a normal car battery into a boat battery which fits the description you asked for if by topmount you mean normal battery terminal and are trying to convert to screw on amp terminals. This is about the cheapest route I have seen and almost everywhere (even landlocked MN has a West Marine). http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/store...-1/10001/123626

Anybody used the woofer tester 2 ?
Looks good, and now we know you can draw straight lines...either that or you are putting some odd cult symbols all over your box.

Welcome onboard, and F the Kukinis

It is good that you are adept at spelling!

ABC Enclosures..
I'd give it a try, but build a "normal" box at the same time so you have something to compare it to. Only takes a little extra MDF and not really that much extra time if you do them together. I am really curious as descriptions make it sound logical, but I have never had a vehicle with enough space to do it.

See you guys next week, I am outta here to go up to Red Lake and do some ice drinkin with a fishing rod.

US Amps USA-442
As a generic answer to your question (not sure if the amp is stable there), just wire two 2 ohm coils in parallel. Or 4, 4ohm coils in parallel and you will have one ohm. Here is the math: 1/(amp ohm load) = 1/voice coil ohm1 + 1/voice coil ohm2 + 1/vco3+.... Only use how many voice coils you have. In the case of a single sub with 2ohm DVC it would be 1/x = 1/2 + 1/2 :therefore x = 1 ohm For 2 DVC 4ohms it would be 1/x = 1/4+1/4+1/4+1/4=> 1 ohm load For 1 DVC 4ohm it would be 1/x = 1/4+1/4 => 2ohm load BUT PLEASE CHECK THE AMP SPECS BEFORE GOING TO 1 OHM!

Whats best for what I want????
Generically speaking since I do not have the 15's nor do I have a ported RLp. Ported boxes are loud and only boomy (with the SS drivers) if they are tuned inappropriately (typically too high). Just make sure you follow Mike's recommended specs for the first shot and tune from there. I built my box to his specs and it rocks.

Tiny New Feature
Hey it found my internet provider and put me on the map. IP tracking is cool, but scary nonetheless. I hate big brother, but being it is off by about 15 miles this is cool!

FeedBack **Positive**
Nothing but great comments for Eldorado as well. Sent me a sub special to arrive well before Christmas to be used as a gift. It arrived in time, made my sis very happy (for their boat) and he sent it even before we arranged payment. I would never request that as it is unfair, but thanks again Eldorado!!! He even included a special SSA gift.

Bored... so i post PICS!!!! lots
Biking = sweet. I am more into the Mountain kind, but nice ride nonetheless. Do you rack it on the Vdub? Funny, just like my amp collection my bike is pretty old skool too. I have an old Breezer.

Progress On my Ported enclosure (pictures)
Umm, flexing is resonating as they are one in the same. If you have a flex mode on your box of 60Hz you could have a (insert box dimension) speaker cone playing that note which could give you an extremely non-linear output. For extreme bracing (and pretty wicked sound) look at the internals of the B&W Nautilus, crazy how much she-i-o they stuff in there.

2nd SWVA TeamSSAudio meet
Jim, Do you have any more pics of your install? Or insight? It will really help my truck system out. I am going to do some sort of budget active install but waver on drivers non-stop.

2nd SWVA TeamSSAudio meet
no worry, Amanda said she knows someone who knows someone who is very talented at this sort of thing, I am not looking forward to the cutting of all the wires and marking 8 per door once I pull them off, but what is funny is that since the panels are just hanging on at the moment I can't lock the doors, I hope to get this done asap as long as the sub amp gets here soon, and I build something for it wish we also had a chance to test that funky thing Nick had in the black box Frickin' Germans, when my doors are removed the door locks and promtly unlocks itself as well. Really sucked as it made it so I couldn't drive my car to leave it anywhere while doing my install.

For those of you that remember this.....the baby was born back on July 21st (thought I posted that in here...but can't find that post). After struggling for life the past 6 months, baby Connor passed away last night I am sorry, no one should have to go through that.

Later model. I can't tell the years, but if I had to guess ... '99 or later? I might go take a look at it and check out the price. I think if I went for a Mustang I'd really like a SVT or Cobra or whatever the higher performance one's are. I really don't follow the Mustangs as you can tell. Those Z's are nice cars. Black w/ red stripes is just awesome. Mustang BOSS baby ! Who doesnt live that god awful paint Which Boss and which paint scheme? Same body style as yours and the orange with black BOSS Ah, the Coletti special. 427 SOHC FE motor. I would love to have that car. Or just give me the SOHC. Pretty much the baddest motor ever in my book.
- It official......

Old School or New School ??
I'd say old skool, but it may not be right for the competition.

As You Wish PICS Towers
don't make fun, that xover board has been used for tons of projects my real xover is 6x6" on mdf oh, if you do use these I can give you the schematic use a zobel filter to cure impedence and inductance problems (I really dont know much about it my buddy designed em). I guess what it does is is make the inductance the same across all the frequency range. When we added the zobel it sounded like the instruments being played were more defined. later, b Wasn't making fun, just pointing out that the whole idea amused me. Indeed you are correct on the Zobel, it should neutralize uneven response of the impedance curve of the speaker to maintain a linear load accross all frequencies and should greatly improve your clarity! Looks nice, finish them up and post some more pics. I'd be interested in seeing your Zobel. Now if I could just get a woman to ask me that....
