  1. dayum... I bet it was that zkrap kid who yelled at me a while back about not knowing what a gain setting is.... That idiot!!!
  2. in the second pic, why didn't you ground the amp to the battery? can you show me an awesome MS Paint diagram like that...???
  3. you'll be on the AZ news getting a beat down on the freeway.... lol ...
  4. nice ... what tint did you end up getting? just curious...
  5. welcome sir!!! .... lovin' the truck... nice setup, clean as hell...
  6. Hurry it up!!! DANG IT!
  7. do you feel that they hit low notes smoothly in the right box? very much an install dependent attribute... I could have a subwoofer capable of go as low at 20Hz but I can set up the enclosure, amp, or HU to modify whether it will receive a signal that low... So that question is kind of useless... I'd say you're better off asking people's opinions in general on any of the subwoofers you are interested in. Many of the members have experience with a wide variety of setups and drivers and amplifiers... If you want, you can search the subwoofer/speaker forum and just look around... These subwoofers that are being mentioned have been the topic of dozens of threads... If there is something specific you don't see in them that you want to know, then you can ask that... Just sayin...
  8. nice write up man... glad you mentioned your judgment of "how good something sounds" .... Also, what amp are you going to next???
  9. shouldn't pose any real issues, if you have the time and parts to re-do that terminal I would though... if you're gonna do it, then do it 1000%... know what I mean?
  10. looks great so far man... Some of your pics aren't loading it seems...
  11. Honestly speaking, I'd stick to 15s because of your box limitations... Doesn't seem worth it in my opinion to go 18 and not be able to give it what it asks for... Low side of the scale will not give you the most of spl...
  12. The reason for the isolator/relay is to prevent the battery in the rear using the other battery to charge when the car is off... The chance of that HC600 really causing any real problem is very low... But hopefully some others with multiple battery setups can chime in here and give us the 4-1-1...
  13. I kind of think the back'n'forth is done since Kevin said he will try to put a claim in through UPS. I guess we'll all be waiting to find out.... GL to OP... Kevin hopefully the UPS claims dept. doesn't stick you with shyt cuz then this will all fall on you as if it was "your fault" ...
  14. Is there some kind of proof about the protect mode issue? Video or anything like that? I'm just curious myself... That is all...
  15. Umm... Wanna protect that wire you mad man???
  16. welcome sir!!!
  17. Honestly, I think it is okay for these things to come about.. The way a person/owner/company handles these situations really helps show the CS... Hopefully the situation isn't a result of a questionable product, but the amplifier was used and supposedly tested... There is no warranty or guarantee for how long it would work or if the OP did do something that caused the protect mode issue.. I know I would be pissed spending whatever money on something used and it broke down within a days time but honestly I couldn't expect much from such a beat up/used looking piece of equipment... The condition of the amplifier was questionable to me and I would never have even taken the chance... Unless FREE....
  18. I have read a few things about SoundSplinter but have yet to hear one... So far my Icon is handling the lows well.. I've played a few 15-20-30-40 hertz tones and my car hates it but my ears and subwoofer love it!!!
  19. I highly doubt you'll be able to use the same box for 15" BTLs let alone for 18" subs.. Your baffle would probably crackle and pop under the pressure...
  20. just click on the speaker link... and look around... From personal experience, I own the SSA Icon 12" and love it... I had it sealed for about 3-4 months and just recently put it into a ported enclosure... The output on the same amplifier has become more defined and seems forceful with rock music which I listen to once in a while... But it sounds like it is waking up a bit, soon I will upgrade the electrical and then really power up this subwoofer...
  21. Also with t-nuts... how did you install them? Pilot hole smaller than the nut and hammer in? I just haven't decided on what to do about mounting my subwoofer... On my old box I am almost sure I had a leak and it was killing the sound... I kind of think the same thing is happening with my new enclosure... Looking for a more secure method..
