  3. lol ... I VOTE THE SAME! go Xcon or go home!
  4. I just recently purchased a second battery for my setup, but haven't gotten it in yet... It's a Kinetik HC800 which I will find a way to install it in the read of my 2003 toyota Camry. In the front I have a Kinetik HC1800... So right now I am running with a stock alternator same as swagger @ 80a MAX output according to manuals and websites...I noticed that at certain times when "idle" or running A/C lights would dim and sometimes get rough idles... I did the BIG 3 which helped a bit but ultimately I need more power and since my setup isn't so high powered I thought I might sneak by with a second battery at the rear for a bit.. I was thinking about getting the DC Power 180HP for my car but since the Kinetik HC800 was on sale for only $99 and it is so small at 7.5in x 5in x 6in I think it was worth it to buy even if I end up with a HO alternator just so it can help regulate power/voltage at the amps...
  5. Nice, cool feature finally adding wifi to phones. your avatar keeps getting better and better stef ... lol

100.2 meters. Meh at first I thought this was serious then I realized all the bad cuts and audio and laughed a bit... here is some awesome....
  19. I have everything powered by amplifiers on my car, and I have stuck to the 3/4 rule. What I was stating wasn't trying to rival the stance of distortion, I was stating that setting your gains with the with the volume wide open is simply making your system quieter at the lower volumes... So if at 3/4 volume, taking the formula of: √ (RMS wattage x ohms used) .. My JL 500/1 for example: √(500*4) = 44.7 This means I need to have an output of 44.7v to get the desired output to my subwoofer, right? If I have my HU wide open on volume that means that I am increasing the input which in-turn would demand less gain to create that same 44.7v thus making the output theoretically lower than if I had set the gains at 3/4 volume... Am I right? or I have I lost the concept of this?
  20. nice.. good to hear man
  21. You could match the gain on the amp(s) so your head unit would play loudest without distortion at it's max volume. Assuming all speakers are being ran off amps and not head unit power. right? but then volume might be too low at normal listening volume? not sure if that is the reasoning for most tutorials suggestions 3/4 volume when adjusting gains.... I could be wrong though..

nice equipment, I'm waiting on tax returns for purchasing my Sundown amp for the subwoofer... Can't wait !
  24. ^^ this... I have a hard time resisting the urge for max volume at idle, I do it quite often... Usually when I'm stuck in traffic to or from work which happens pretty much everyday... I haven't addressed my voltage drop yet but I'm looking to get a better alt from DC Power and add a very small Kinetik in the back near the amps for so reserve since I know I can't go easy on the volume when I'm alone in my car..lulz

That does insulate the wire tip from fray and oxidation a bit, but I think putting tin on the wire doesn't help with conducting electricity.. Safer to just insert the bare wire, but to be honest I always use a spade connector so that the wire doesn't fray... I have a rotary tool so if it doesn't fit right I slim it down a bit, or sanding it can help too...
