and as far as amps go... what will you be using for the Icon? for your DLS, do you just want matched wattage? overhead? are you going passive? active??

Marantz is a great one. I have one in my home theatre setup with my ps3. In the computer room I have a denon. It's pretty good as well.

I looked up the product and it didn't really say much. My assumption though is that it is a voltage monitor.. To me that means it will always be on...

My badd, missed that.... So yea, the DLS components sounded great but I don't think I'll be purchasing the $400 set he most likely has. Kinda makes me think the ones below that won't sound as good. Plus I've only heard his set about 2 - 3 times a while back... But maybe I should go for the DLS set and bridge my 4ch amp and give them the 150watts my amp can give. sound like a good idea //M5??

Well, my goal is to purchase a set of components that can reproduce music loudly and clearly. I don't like the sound of my Alpines as they are harsh at louder volumes and at lower the vocals seem to be competing with the low end that the 6x9s I have are producing. So I pretty much know any component set is made to work together for a whole/complete sound but I want something that can do this even when I pump the volume past 50%... So basically, loud and clear.. and one set so I don't have to work harder to set it up. Also, I want it to be able to for it to blend a bit with the Icon I will eventually get from SSA. If that doesn't make sense, then I don't know what does. The other thread mainly was looking for something to compete with insanely loud subwoofers, which I will not even own or want.

My bad bout bumping the thread. Was just messing about. I was looking at Bravox but there isn't a lot to choose from and not my first choices.

Shouldn't be that crucial, some vehicles make it easy to get to the alt bracket. Instead of doing the alt- to chassis, I just did my engine block to chassis and it helped so you could try that as an alternate. Okay... Good idea.... Not sure where a good spot on my engine block is for me to actually use though....

learn to read peoples posts, I contacted Hifonics and they TOLD ME THAT THE LEVEL WAS NOT THE ACTUAL GAIN!! Then they were joking with you because the level knob is the gain and the external knob is only to set the gain anywhere between the set limit by the level knob. Best way to explain that. Thank you for clearing that up man... I've never had Hifonics, my mommy and daddy made me buy second-hand equipment which usually ended up being Kenwoods for some odd reason....

Seriously guy, I really don't care what is on the comment page... Posting guido this and guido does not offend me... Also I really hope your shit isn't broken and burning cuz that would suck.
