i'd kill a midget to have that car. Back when i was into my car i talked often with a guy in florida that had taken my daytona's engine (turbo III, DOHC turbo...kinda like the new neon's) and stuck it in an old omni, 500 sum odd HP after the stuff he had done to it, owned that, a TIII daytona like mine, and a dodge viper, said that with the exception of take off (no traction) the GLHS would run all over the viper. Of course this guy had his own custom intakes made and everything.

the GLHS omni was only in 86 if i remember correctly. Had a plate on the dash (pass side) that had shelby's sig and a number. The valve cover said shelby and along the rocker panel outside i think it had "GLHS" written. had to have been a 5sp,

the GLHS's actually handled extremely well, they just had the torque steer problem, thats comes from 170hp fwd in a car that weighs less than a soaking wet cardboard box (and looks like one too)

only mustang i'd ever own would have to have shelby on it, even those were nothing like everyone wanted them to be. but if shelby touches something, its worth owning i think i'd go for something different though. Go get something that not everyone rices out. Personally if i ever build up another car besides getting my D@MN daytona running, i'd be all over a T2 omni, ugly as sin, fast as hades. But thats because i've a boner for the 2.2.

i love sleepers, but i'd want a car that i liked. I think neons are nearly like mustangs for me, its not the car, its the idiots that usually drive them (no offense) but i hate seeing idiots with mustangs that think they're fast as hell, idiots with neons with huge spoilers, stuff like that.

well i won't be competing, i just like the idea of being able to make it really loud when the situation calls for, i'm more interested in making it look good as i know making it sound good will be easy('ish)

I need to figure out how to get the tuning right for that theroretical box i was talking about 4 ports that tune it to say...20 and block two of them off and it becomes ~35'ish tuning
