ok so i know nothing about hdtv, but with normal DVDs is it better for me to run components cables (tv says this is the only way to get 1080i which my dvd player does upconvert to) or run HMDI? the manual doesn't say anything about this being able to do 1080i but i thought HDMI cables were > component?

and can i just say, the other roomie's bf is getting on my last nerve. this guy never fucking stops talking. he is so condescending to his gf, and has tried it a few times with minji and the other roomie but they put him in his place (he continues to try though) last night he was patronizing the gf for the way she made rice (the correct way i might add) he was explaing that you have to boil the hell out of it, check it often (and stir) and taste. Once it becomes soft you drain it and it's ready. she was.....measuring out proper amounts of rice/water, and letting it sit on a lower heat without touching it. his nice directions ended up with a soupy mixture that would make couscous jealous. the fucker can't cook at all but loves to give directions to us while we're in the kitchen. I was making potato skins one day and he was explaining how i was cutting the potatoes wrong. So i hand him the knife and a potato and ask how i should cut them. Not only does he fuck up the potato but he also cut his own damn hand. but then explains that "well i got it started but you see what i mean, you can finish it" he argues about every god damn thing too. the whole point of this rant? now he's going camping too! GREAT!!!!!! i'm taking the gun, and the axe.

may have just pwnd myself. got the tv apart, cleaned everything, put it back together and it goes into standby now, three flashes - over voltage protection. i have it apart again right now, going to re-plug everything and make sure i didn't miss anything then see if it'll work. If not looks like i might be calling a technician and paying WAY too much

damn it, trying to get to the optical lense on this TV so i can clean it but i need a super long philips screwdriver. off to advance, hope i don't have to drive all the way to c-burg just for a screwdriver
