Posted July 23, 200718 yr This is my current setup here in my house in Manhattan (I'm a junior in EE at K-state). Speakers: Magnepan MGIIBAmplification: QSC CX 902 for the sub, QSC Powerlight 1.0HV for the Maggies, and an ART SLA-1 just there...Preamp: Behringer T1953 w/ upgraded tubesCrossover/EQ: Behringer DCX 2496DVD/CD/SACD player: Oppo 981-HDTV: Currently cheapo 27" CRT, will have a ~37" LCD HDTV before the end of the monthIn the mail are two Mach 5 Audio MAW 15's for the substage, haven't entirely decided on the configuration that they will be in yet. Overall I don't think its too shabby for a college house, don't mind the mess currently I just had to re-arrange everything tonight and haven't got it all put back up yet. On to the pictures. The BasementOf course, since it is a college house, gotta have the wetbar in the basement...These are my current tube project amps to play with...
July 23, 200718 yr I see Disaronno. That stuff is amazingly good. I used to drink it all the time. Now I'm to poor for it. I just drink Margarita's on the rocks now . Oh and Miller Chill it's fuc*ing amazing if you haven't tried itBTW nice setup
July 23, 200718 yr Nice gear. Those Maggies would love to be further away from the wall though.*looks for wall treatments
July 23, 200718 yr Author Nice gear. Those Maggies would love to be further away from the wall though.*looks for wall treatmentsI would love wall treatments, not going to do it in this house, or in this basement. I have yet to play with the placement of the Maggies, they were just put there last night and haven't had time yet. Thanks for the compliments though guys.
July 23, 200718 yr Author eww behringer. So much value it is grotesque? The DCX unit I reallllly like, the preamp not so much but it works alright for now.
July 23, 200718 yr I hear ya- I run a pair of the DCX's myself. I don't think you can find a comparable unit for twice the price.
July 24, 200718 yr Glad to see my Adcom went to some good use What's on the other (right side, facing the bar) side of the basement? If I had that space I'd probably face the Maggies down the long axis of the room...with the two MAW-15's in a stereo pair.
July 24, 200718 yr Author You mean put the maggies at the skinny end of the room pointed the long ways?? (for lack of a better definition)In the top picture you can see where the hex little white pad is on the wall, there is a door that extends to there for the basement bedroom so they would have to be pretty close together. I may try this anyways and see what I think....
