Posted July 30, 200718 yr Heres some pics of my build of BIB's for the Eminence 12LTA driver and a Fostex FT17 tweet. It takes 5 sheets of ply for the two enclosures, 6'3"x20"x30" rough dimensions. On to the pics
July 30, 200718 yr Author Very nice. What are your plans for finishing?Currently I have no plans for finishing. That is the part I hate the worst about building anything. It might be stained, it might be painted, it might be carpeted in fake fur (not joking about this either), or it might be roll on bedliner. Haven't really decided on it yet.
July 30, 200718 yr Author The second one is complete, have to wait till I move them to get pics of the pair. It looks like a barrel cart is going to be the best option to move these coffins.
July 30, 200718 yr Author These speakers completely utterly dominate, with the space they take up and the low end they pump out. They get painful loud with UNDER 100 watts, I'm powering them with an ART SLA-1 amp and I can't turn it up all the way, I can't take it. The low end on these is just unreal, feel it in the chest, in the floor, in the walls, its just nuts. I don't think they turned out to bad for the build time being roughly 24hrs (that includes sleep)
July 30, 200718 yr compensating??Sure, for a low power requirement. Actually I think it is for a little TV
July 30, 200718 yr Author Thats the roommates TV. Mines the old 27" CRT in the basement, and these speakers won't fit in the basement.
July 30, 200718 yr Author Its vented out the top... Sub, SUB, SUB?!?!?!? Who needs a stinking sub, that driver will go up to 8khz.

August 2, 200718 yr lmao @ subLooks great, I've found a pair of 6.5" BIB's to fit my Sigmas within driving distance to me but the guy isn't the most prompt in exchanging emails...so I'm waiting to set up a time to pick them up Those look fine as is. Mine are going to have to be painted, bare MDF...Have you experimented with varying the stuffing density? Scottmoose, Greg Monfort and others have done pretty much everything you can do with one over on DIYAudio.
