i know that this is a dedicated forum to the posted companies but i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sub

No, it's not. :) Just because there's hosted manufacturer forums here doesn't mean that all the discussion in the general sections has to be about those manufacturers.

As to your question, I don't have any personal experience with the Ov.2, I have an e12a but I got disillusioned real fast with eD after that.

Image Dynamics builds a solid driver, it should hold up to responsible use. Don't expect miracles out of it.

thats good to know i wwas actually kinda nerves about asking the questions ik now how serious people get about these forums lol you say image dynamics im gonna check them out right now

you say image dynamics im gonna check them out right now

Image Dynamics is the OEM for the Ov.2, at least the last time I paid attention to it...

oh ok kool my brother just went to his freshman year of college and his car is still here he wants a big sub 15 or 18 and im gonna go ahead and throw the 19Ov.2 in there because thats what he was lookin at

ID han't built for them for a while now. I don't think the 18 inchers were there's I think those are a China deal like their other stuff is.

YOu want a stellar 18 at a great price with great support, try the Mach 5 IXL 18.

  • Author

yea i was lookin into the IXL but wouldnt i have to get multiple to run them at a decent ohm level?

  • Author

yea im gonna see what i can find that will put out atleast 800 at 4 ohms

are there anyother good 18 inch woofers i need to make a decision by thursday to get it here next week if possible

  • Author

damn bad business what kinda bad things happened i would like to know before i purchase the woofer from them

All sorts of "phuck the customer" activity. You won't find anyone on most car audio boards that will buy from them (except Icix since of course they own it). The owner is a dick and doesn't support the product post sale at all. It is a complete shame. Run away from the eD crap and get something else. Even if it isn't from a manufacturer on this board, I would look elsewhere.

There are a lot of amps that will do the power you desire.

im definately glad i been to their forum but only to look at builds but i guess I AM A have to go else where to get a sub then

i guess my second choice the Arsenal 15 then

I have a 19Ov.2 from eD

excellent quality...takes 1200 watts from my Nine.1 at 1 ohm all day. Awesome SQ

Yeah some people who have had bad experiences with eD in the past probably still hate eD

But they've come a long way....eD is badass in my book

You haven't had any problems with your gear yet obviously, wait until you do and you too shall feel the wrath of jack-ass customer service.

To the OP, I would highly expect that the AA to be a much better sub than the eD anyways. :doit:

Done the Ed thing, still running a Nine.1.

I would not buy another sub from them.

Had one spontaneously burn up, which was probably at least partially my fault, but the service sucked when I tried to figure out what was wrong and what could be done about it.

It is not worth getting into, the constantly growing bad eD track record is evident with the JL basket issues, and "borrowed" design from TB. Not to mention the pointless videos posted by them showing how poorly run their company is.

I am new here as you can see. I have owned multiple Ed subs over the last 2 years and have had to contact them over a couple of small problems I had. I know others have had issues with them in the past. Ben has been an ass to some apparently. That has not been my case. Nothing but positves from them and helpful. Sometimes customer service is a little slower than what I may like. However, they have been great for me to deal with.

They build all of the subs themselves now. Parts are made off shore. They have been very open with what happens/ is happening in the company. Maybe they shouldn't. Just because you don't here this happening at JL, DD, or whoever else does not mean its not happening. They just don't tell you about it. Look at your own employer. Boss ever get mad? Piss off a customer? Believe that someone is trying to rip you off after the evidence points to abuse of a product?

The owner has been brutally honest about himself, his company, and his product. That's bad? Think Rockford never produced a bad product? Soundstream? I have 10x the stories of bad product and service from just these 2 companies than I have had from all of the others I have used combined.

As far as the 19Ov2, I haven't used it, but have used the 16Ov2 (currently using one for HT in a 5cube box tuned to 22hz) and have a 13Ov2 on 600w in my DD and just took out a SQ10 (one of the first produced) that had the glue joint fail between the coil and cone in a tapped horn at 40hz and about 500w. Yeah, my fault I wanted to push the limits on it. It ran like that for a week.

yea my brother decided to take a chance i couldnt change his mind he was set on this sub so i will just build and make it the best i can

i mean i will see first hand what the customer service is all about

Maybe if he was brutally honest three years ago I wouldn't feel the way I do now :)

Is he being brutally honest about the Tang Band issue :)

Ohhh, the issue of him basically stealing the design? :)

I think it went, TB designed the driver, then Ben stole the design & got it made in China.

Pure ED propaganda. Weaving delusional, self serving narratives of martyrdom is a long way from being brutally honest. A stronger case could be made that he is a compulsive liar. Time and time again, Ben Milne has been proven to be dishonest, even when it would not hurt him at all to be straight. I have given him the benefit of the doubt for years, but he has made it absolutely clear that he is a morally corrupt little prick. People only assume he is being honest because the stuff he comes up with is so pathetic it is hard to believe it fabrication he thinks makes him look good.

I'm not suggesting people shouldn't buy his stuff if they want. Just stop believing he is an honest person, just because he says he is.
