Posted September 8, 200718 yr Ok, now I figured this is an infinite baffle. Just found out by googling it. Now comes the real question, What positives and negatives come from an inifinite baffle? Do they sound good at all and can they produce some nice SPL or would I be better off just makin a ported enclosure. Edited September 8, 200718 yr by truckaudioman
September 8, 200718 yr Scott can modify the Q to perform in an IB alignment.IB does indeed mean infinite baffle. What other components comprise of your system?Click on my project log on the bottom of my sig for an infinite baffle installation + my thoughts.

September 8, 200718 yr if you are wanting something "loud" i definitely wouldn't look at IB. if you want an easy install, don't look at IB. if you are willing to put forth the effort to have an accurate reproduction of music then IB is awesome. if i wasn't so lazy I would have done it by now.
September 8, 200718 yr From some of your other threads you've made I'd say IB is the absolute last thing you'd be interested in.
September 9, 200718 yr I am sure it would look cool, but from all your other posts from way back when you are much more into SPL, which I think you would lose a lot of. Edited September 9, 200718 yr by Xibalba
September 9, 200718 yr Author Thanks for all your input guys. I learned a lot about them from your posts beleive it or not. I am to much of a SPL lover for one apparently and would probably be disappointed if i were to try it. Thanks.....I will stay with ported.
September 9, 200718 yr You also have to realize that your RMS power goes down significantly when running IB...Thanks!-Nick

It is for SQ integration purposes only pretty much and do realize that SPL and SQ are polar opposites in that what you do to get one compromises the other.
