Posted June 18, 200421 yr Ok the xxx is loud and SQ rightand the SX is the so ccalled budget spl sub, the SX is louder than the xxx then what is the point of buying the xxx when the SX is cheaper???just thought i'd askwhat is the Root mean square of the SX anyway..
June 18, 200421 yr Admin I believe the SX is not really directed at SQ but has decent SQ, but the XXX is an SQ sub that can get loud, and its not really meant to be used for competition even though it can take it
June 18, 200421 yr Author so what r u trying to tell me..The SX is louder than the xxx and cost less, and is used for comps..Meaning the Sx is an Spl sub.. :boink: :whipitgood:
June 19, 200421 yr So what is the point of buying an xxx, if i just want to be loud... :thud: more BL---more xmax---more thermal wattage----oh yeah---and XBL^2---I will never own another sub without it.---high BL is good but flat BL is ALOT better.
June 19, 200421 yr Admin aw well i guess its an SX for me, how much are they any way 220$ kickinaudio is selling his for $260 shipped (15")
June 19, 200421 yr Need to sell it fast guys...going on vacation next weekI bought the sub new for $310, literally used for 3hr.....in the box waiting to be shipped.
June 19, 200421 yr i think the xxx handles more power, so if u have a sh!t loud of it get the xxx...jamie
June 19, 200421 yr Author alls i got is 1200 wattsand 900 wattsSo not really, the SPL of the SX is like 91 and the SPL of the xxx is like 88.. something like that.Dave dont all RE subs have XBL tech..dam 310$, man well i'm broke at the moment so sellin it fast aint go work for me, i'm still trying to get my Sexxx serviced, so i can sell it.. Yea the spider did come off of the cone, but not by that much its kinda hard to see..
June 19, 200421 yr Admin the subs with XBL^2 is the Brahma, XXX, and KodasRE and Adire are coming out with XBL^2 components
June 20, 200421 yr Author OH, i think my SEXXX has xbl, and i coulda swore david said all RE drivers have XBL tech..
June 21, 200421 yr XXX is currently the only RE driver with Xbl^2 motor, save for the XXX components due soon. SeXXX used the XXX coil, but on a stock SE motor/susp. IIRC. The SX will most likely peak a tad higher than the XXX...but the XXX will dominate it in output over it's frequency bandwidth. If you plan on using it daily as well, I'd say the XXX. David only saw .8 dB gain from dropping the SX's in his wall over the XXX's, with about 2kw per driver. They both can take a ton of power, I was burping my SX with 4 AB 1200's strapped at 1 ohm a coil and had no problems...I'm on to bigger things, however.... :::cough MT cough:::
June 22, 200421 yr Author Yea but xxx is like another 100$ well 200$ if u buy 2 subs...310$ vs. 469$ well depends on the job i get...MAn now u got me wanting an xxx. dam u :punch: But yea depends on the job..Man how much do 18's cost 500$
