When I had my dodge, I had 3 TREO TSi's running from a Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 amp. They sounded good. Ive sold those and I am leaning towards a 15 Fi Q for my 02 monte carlo. Im wanting a daily driver great sounding Sq set up. Could somebody tell me how the 15 will compare to the 3 10's i had? For the amp, I'm leaning towards the Sundown SAE-1000D. Would the SAZ-1500D be better? The price on this website would be the highest I want to spend on an amp. My headunit is a PANASONIC

MXE CQ-C8413U if that matters. Thanks for all help.

Sorry this was lengthy.

  • 2 weeks later...

a friend has two treo tsx 10's, sealed box. i have a 15 q in 4.8cuft ported. his subs are incredibly accurate and can get really punchy, but i like the bigger sound of my Q. and it's obviously a helluva lot louder. for sound quality i think the Q will sound fuller, but won't be quite as accurate as sealed treo subs. it just depends on what you listen to and what sound you like. one thing for sure that 15 Q will walk all over those TSi's.

(i considered treo before purchasing my woofer went back and forth for a couple months, then finally started talking to guys at Fi, ordered, finally heard some Fi's at world db finals, then the decision was clear, it would be very tough to pry me from Fi now.)

i can't imagine how good this thing would sound sealed, probably just as accurate as those sealed 10" treos, but it's hard to even explain how much this thing drops in a ported enclosure. if you listen to mostly hip-hop and rap then go ported, if you listen to a lot of rock and more accurate stuff then put it in a sealed box.

At first, its going to be half rock and half rap, but my main source of music is rock. That being said, I should put the Fi in a sealed enclosure?

Yes.

What do you have for the front stage?

If you're looking for a great sounding SQ setup, you've got a lot of work in store for that :)

For the sealed box, should I stick to what the Q recommends or something different?

It is always best to start with what is suggested by Fi.

for good SQ you have to have somewhat good quality drivers with the best placement and having good amplifer power isn't a bad thing......install is 99% of it though

I shouldnt have even asked this question. I'm an idiot. lol
