Posted October 16, 200717 yr Hi, I currently have the SSD's w/ copper coil in about a cube sealed. My buddy had a box, 3.5 @ 32hz I believe, that he said I could use if I needed. Would that box be good for the SSD's or will it be too small? I could use the slight bump in output, unless the box is too small.
October 16, 200717 yr Ported box we recommend using 1.8-2.5 cubic feet @ 33Hz (this is optimal in our eyes and to our ears, you can tune 31-35hz fine if you so please)That's kind of on the small side of things, How much vent area does it have?
October 17, 200717 yr That would seem to be enough port area (max recommended for that airspace is about 56sqin), but that box is on the small side. I would give them more air than that, but you could always try it with the thought that you still should build a bigger one. It will give you an increase in output, but it will sound pretty different from the sealed box you currently have. Edited October 17, 200717 yr by tejcurrent
October 17, 200717 yr You could always try it and see what it sounds like, worse comes to worse all you have to do is build another enclosure .Thanks!-Nick
