December 3, 200717 yr Maybe your remote lead is loose somewhere ?u mean my remote going to my amp?if so ill check.u ever known of someone haven that kind of problem w alpines?Maybe I understood you wrong, the amp shuts off or the radio? If the radio... then thats different. I would check your radio wiring, sounds to me like a wire is loose and is intermittently losing connection. Probably the main power or ground to the radio. I have not heard of a particular problem with Alpine head units doing anything like that, no.
December 3, 200717 yr Author yes,its the head unit.ill check all my wiring and get back to ya soon w results.my amps doing great.its by far the best amp ive ever owned and for the money!!!!!keep up the good work man.im gettn another one soon and try some strappn to see how it bangs!!!sundown all the way!
December 3, 200717 yr what model is the alpine? mine dosen't have that problem nor has it skipped yet
December 3, 200717 yr see if your alpine has a feature to turn off the internal amp in the head unit. it won't shut off your ext amp, only power through the head unit high level outputs ,not the low levels.See if it still shuts off .If it does not shut off buy a cheap 2/4 channel amp and hook it up to your highs, mids and you should be fine.
December 3, 200717 yr I had my Eclipse do that same thing. I checked and double checked all the wiring. Ended up being the dome light shorting out when the bass hit, and cutting everything off for a second, then it would all come back on.

December 3, 200717 yr if u find no faults in the wiring behind radio check the speakers in the doors to see if they are "grounded out" givin its not a dead head (not sure)
