I know that both of these amps will for for this sub but my main question is, is it worth spending the extra money for the 1.1000 or will the 1.600 suffice?

Buy big now, you'll want it later.

Nothing like headroom.

The Q does not need that much power, but does not hurt.

I would personally go with 1000w. HOnestly i love alpine, i use them now, however, i would stay away from the newer verison.....iv seen alot of problems espeically with heat issues in the newer ones...

They do run hotter than your typical huge amplifier, but that is part of the design.
