do they make 8s and if so does anyone know howmuch they are?

i kinda am stuck between 2 12s 2 10s or 4 8s.

i dont know what to choose if you guys could help out that would be great.

Ascendant Audio makes 8s, they are part of the Fi brand. You can purchase them through the shop here

All depends on box design and so many other things. Just try one size, if you don't like sell it and get another size.

I vote for one 15. And i'm serious! I just recently replaced four JL 10w3v2's sealed with one FI 15" Q tuned to 28hz in a 4 cubic foot box and couldn't be happier. I used the same Kicker Kx1200.1 amp to power both and with the 10's, it got loud. But with the 15, it gets loud and low. Every single song i play now sounds better too. They're more full and rich. And get this, ESPECIALLY ROCK! Stuff that was just too tinny before to turn up loud and enjoy all of a sudden has a baseline that i never knew was there before. And with that comes a few more notches on the volume knob, and a smile from me :P

well what will get louder in my truck

the 2 12s the 2 10 or the 3 to 4 8s

What subs are you asking about exactly? Fi makes quite a few different ones.

my truck is a standard cab so no 15

and i was thinking the ssds.

and the box will be sealed

what kind of truck? i put two 12" ssd's in my SC sierra and was more then satisfied with the LSQ.

its a s10 and i have 2 kicker 12s in there now so i know the ssds will fit.

if i do 2 10s i will save some more room if i do the 12s it will be just about the same.

but i just want to know what will be the loudest like 5 feet away from the car.

and do you guys suggest ported or not?

if i go ported i will do the 10s but i cant design a box worth chit.

ive built all ogf my other sealed boxes but have no clue on how to build a ported one so if

you guys could help me out the would be great.

So you're building for MECA drive-by?

no its just i have my 2 12s(cvrs) now and they dont sound that loud outside of my truck but a couple years ago i had 2 mtx 6000 10s and they sounded way louder than my cvr 12s

why would you want to be loud outside of your vehicle?

i just realy want to be loud as chit and im not impressed with 12s

but more with 10s. the only 12s ive had are the kickers but are the 12 ssds going to be way louder than that? if so i will go with the ssds in 12s but if you guys think that the 10s in the cab are going to be louder

then i will do that.

im kinda a noooooooob if you cant tell

it all depends on the boxes they were in. where the boxes optimal for the cvr's?

I have a friend with an s-10 who has said numerous times how much louder his 10s wer in his truck then his current 2-12 setup. If space is really limited I'd much rather have two nice ported 10s than 2 cramped sealed 12s.

the 12s are in a box thats 1.1 cubes after displacment each and they require 1 cube and the other 10s were in a mtx box that was what im assuming perfect for them

so yes they both were in the right enclosures

how about one 12" BL with flatwind on 1300 watts ported say...2.5 cuft tuned to 31 hz? something like that, should make you feel like your ears are bleeding, at least that's how I like to listen to music. lol

oh, and I think any single woofer from Fi would whoop on two CVR's, I have gone up against two different system's with two kicker solobarics, one was L5's, one L7's, both running over 2kw's, and put them down with ease with one 15" Q on 1kw, fosgate :)

well i thiunk I AM A go with 10s they require less airspace and i think they will hit harder in a standard cab

if anyone should object then say so or for ever hold your peace

I like how you're basing your final decision off of "I think".

Very brave of you.

i know im goin with 10s less space is needed and i think they might sound louder

More displacement is always louder. if your going for as loud as possible go for the biggest subs u can fit with as big a ported box u can fit.

If your going for space go for the 10s.

you also have to remember that the amp you use will have a huge affect too.

if you're a noob, you should spend some time researching what products can accomplish the goals you want with your setup. it'll pay off.

wrong, more displacement has an advantage over less displacement, however if you dont have effective airspace it wont work :). for example i could put 25 SSd's in a crx, but 10 could be just as loud as there is enough airspace

Id run 10s btw
