Well the market has a good number of lower power fairly docile 8" drivers. But not many beefier drivers that can take a little bit of power and still sound good. Look how popular the RL-i and DD 1508 are in the on line community, because of the higher power amplifiers and more custom installations. As for a smaller version, if this one is a success and we see there is a need for a smaller 200 watt model then we could add it down the road.

if this sub is nothing around 200w, then this is gonna be awesome.

What i'm curious to know is if this 8 can be optimally ran in a 0.5 cu ft ported box.
