February 28, 200817 yr If I was you I'd wire the subs coils in series for a 2ohm nominal load producing around 1000 WRMS for a stable cool amp all day long

February 28, 200817 yr Author so it would kinda risky to wire to 1 ohm since the sub is actually .70 omhs? And say if i wired to 1 ohm what do u think would be the biggest problem i could run into sorry for all the questions just gathering info cause this really where ive been learning
March 3, 200817 yr Author well i installed all my stuff today 15 bl loaded and t100bd wired at 1 ohm well i was testing everything out i drove down the road put a bass tester in then it played and was sounding really good when i started to smell something like it was burning so i pulled over and the protect light was on but u could barely see it checked all my fuses they was all good the fan on the amp was on for about 5 minutes and now it wont work at all i took it apart and i dont see any damage or burnt stuff was is the problem here
March 3, 200817 yr How exactly did you wire your sub up??? I dont understand how you are getting a d1 ohm sub to be wired for a 1 ohm final load unless you are only using 1 coil (which is a bad thing) it is not possible.
March 3, 200817 yr Author i had to wired postive side from amp on positve coil jumped to the other coil on positive and negative on the coil jumped to the other negative on the other side i cant see no burns or nothing on amp stays on protect and thats it Edited March 3, 200817 yr by timmc2006
March 3, 200817 yr You have the woofer wired to .5 ohms, to low of a load for the amp thats why its suck in protect. Hopefully you didn't damage the amp. You need to rewire the sub to a 2 ohm load to use it on that amp. If the amp isn't damaged it should run. Here is a wiring diagram to get a 2ohm load from your sub. Edited March 3, 200817 yr by bromo
March 3, 200817 yr Author ok but even with the sub wires disconnected it still stays in protect ........ well i just tryed it again still no luck without speaker hooked up goes strait to protect im pretty sure i fryed it but if anyone can help or give me advise on what to do would be great Edited March 3, 200817 yr by timmc2006
March 3, 200817 yr That's because we told you how to wire it up, and you went ahead an did it in parallel which put it at a 1/2 ohm load and now the amp is in protect mode. That amp is only stable down to 1ohm nominal ( final load ). You better hope the amp can be reset cuz most of the time it's game over. Ignorance doesn't get you very far in car audio, except a very steep learning curve. You might want to listen to people who have the experience when you ask for help, other wise you're wasting time & $.
March 3, 200817 yr Author ya ur right it was my fault for being in a hurry but how do u reset it and if it does have to be fixed how much do u think it would cost
