Posted September 8, 200421 yr So I decided I was going to finish deadening my car tonight. Only part left was the floor. Now in hopes of being a little more efficient than the ole' heat gun, I used an oven I purchased for powder coating. Awesome deal for $30. Anyways, I cut all the pieces to fit, then removed the backing, slapped them face down on the aluminum side and let them sit for 5 minutes each at 200 degrees. Worked out pretty good. Hell of a lot quicker than sitting there fanning the heat gun back and forth. If anyone has this option available to them, I suggest trying it.Don't let them sit for too long though or the adhesive(read asphalt) will start to bubble and overflow onto the oven surface.
September 8, 200421 yr That definitely works really well ... Far better than heat guns if it's cold out.At least in my opinion. I'm pretty impatient.- Steve
September 8, 200421 yr Interesting idea...although I've never had a problem with heat guns being overly time-consuming.

September 10, 200421 yr I usually crank up my space heater on max and sit the mat by it. That usually works. Just make sure to keep turning it as you go.
