So I decided I was going to finish deadening my car tonight. Only part left was the floor. Now in hopes of being a little more efficient than the ole' heat gun, I used an oven I purchased for powder coating. Awesome deal for $30. Anyways, I cut all the pieces to fit, then removed the backing, slapped them face down on the aluminum side and let them sit for 5 minutes each at 200 degrees. Worked out pretty good. Hell of a lot quicker than sitting there fanning the heat gun back and forth. If anyone has this option available to them, I suggest trying it.

Don't let them sit for too long though or the adhesive(read asphalt) will start to bubble and overflow onto the oven surface.

Interesting idea...although I've never had a problem with heat guns being overly time-consuming.

I usually crank up my space heater on max and sit the mat by it. That usually works. Just make sure to keep turning it as you go.

I actually did the same thing with a halogen lamp

Let it sit too long one time and the asphalt is still on my dern lamp :)
