i'm looking to run 2 btl 18's in 12.09 cubes gross in my trunk for daily. lmk

Might work out ok. What are the box dimensions?

What amp(s) do you have? Three 15's might work out better, or maybe four 12's?

I like the sound of the 18" in 8-9 cubic ft ported each. Under 7 is too small imo

1 hk4000d( i'll buy another if needed)

300amp HO alt

4 red tops 1 yellow top

all 0ga

max outside dementions are H=24 W= 41 L=25

don't you designe boxes? lmk if you got something allready designed or if you're willing to come up with something for me. i'll pay ya

i'm not aposed to going with 12s or 15s ether. just want the bigest band out of my trunk space.

I'll see what i can find if u can wait for a few min-few hrs.

I know baffle-wise, you can fit 11 8's, 7 10s, 5 12s.

Volume-wise, i'm about to research it.

Oh and i just looked, i seriously doubt you can fit 3 15s.

The outer rim on the 3rd 15 hangs over both the top and side of the box making it impossible to screw down.

You could do 10 8s, 11 8s would require side firing.

You can do 6 10s, 7 10s would require side firing.

You can do 4 12s, 5 12s would require side firing.

If you did the 8s, they need to be dual 4 ohm.

If you did the 10s, they need to be dual 4 ohm.

If you did the 12s, they need to be dual 2 ohm.

I could fit (5) 12's on the baffle, but the load will be tough with your amp(s).

Go with (4) 12's.

24 x 41 x 25 box.

22.5 x 6 port - 17.75" deep.

If you run 1 amp, you could go with BL's with dual 1 ohm coils. You will have 8 coils. Wire 2 sets of 4 in series, then parallel the two sets for 2 ohms

If you get a second amp, do BTL's with dual 2 ohm coils. Wire the coils on each sub in series, and then parallel each pair for two 2 ohm loads.

You could do 5 dual 2 ohm subs..... maybe.

The DCR load of BLs would be exactly 0.6 ohms, which is only 0.1 ohm shy of 1 ohm nominal.

I would rather prefer you try this wiring with an amp that doesn't mind dropping below a real 1ohm for brief periods such as Sundown's SAZ amps but it is possible if you kept rise up.

2nd that to the 3-15s....actually 2-18s has more cone area than 4-12s but given the enclosure volume I think the 3-15s or 4-12s would be much happier in those parameters. Id say 3-BL 15s in a fairly large enclosure would be louder than 2-BTL 18s in a small enclosure given the same power due to more surface area. And it wouldnt be that big of a difference in price too.
