Alright well I have been trying to decide what sub/amp to get for about a month now. I already made the wrong choice once and am determined not to do that again. I am taking my time and am going to do everything right.

I finally bought an amp, diamond D3 800.1

It can do 800 watts at 1 ohm so I decided an fi single 15 inch sub would work best for me. Now the question do I go for the SSD or the Q?

The SSD about 70 dollars cheaper (Id like to use that 70 dollars for some wiring) ive asked this question before on another forum but never really got a great answer.

What are the main differences between these subs and would it be worth getting a q if I am only running 800 watts?

It will be going in a 94 Honda accord if that makes a difference.

An SSD in a ported box would get louder though right?

I want to port it so it would be SSD ported vs Q ported

Q is louder and has better SQ, just an overall better sub.

i got the ssd fully loaded and its really nice. it doesnt sound like chit but can still get loud. ppl think i got two 12"s. i got around 1200watts on it right now but im about to put 1500-1700 watts on it with a us amp md2d.

I listen to mostly rock and rap

Umm My goals are to get loud and stay as cheap as possible....kinda answered my own question there but if its not worth it to stay cheap then I could probably save up a little longer

I just got my Q 12 basic version (upgraded from an audiobahn) put it in a ported 2.3 cubed, tuned to 32 and run 800 watts to it. listen to rock and rap about 40% - 60% and got it in my 03 jetta. and its an amazing difference. Ive never heard the ssd but im completely happy with the Q. the neighbors on the other hand are thoroughly annoyed and im grinning... from this little experience i would definitely reccomend a Q to anyone. I dont think youd be upset. it bangs as good as any 12s ive heard and sounds more precise. i say dont cheap out man.

I just ordered a 15 inch SSD

The cheaper price was the selling point. It looks like a great sub I cant wait to get it!

Does it still take like 3-5 for them to make em? I am so pumped to get it.

Going to start my box build soon

Paypal payment says status unclaimed never had that happen before. Does that just mean fi needs to accept the payment I guess?

That thing is gonna melt. Sell it and buy a BL or Q. I'd put no more then 1200 or so to a SSD.

It was like $214 cause I got copper coils as well. I paid it all though I guess they just need to accept it or something
